Red Gallery Candy Boxes

Happy February! This month has a focus on the day of hearts and today I’m sharing my little treats with you featuring Bella’s Red Gallery papers.

Ruby Rock-It Brands materials: Bella Red Gallery Papers (Apples, Petals, Distress), Fundamentals Sentiment Toppers (Spring, Neutral), Franchville Gold Foil Mini Doilies

I’ve trimmed each Red Gallery paper to different sizes and then cut them through my candy box punch.

I then tied one end of the box and then filled it up with some chocolate coated almonds.  After that I tied the other end to secure the candy boxes.

Next I chose a couple of the larger pieces to feature more layers and sentiment on the boxes.  For these, I added some pretty Franchville Gold Foiled Doilies, flowers, and Fundamentals Sentiment Toppers.

I also added a couple of leaves and stamens onto selected boxes and kept the smaller ones fairly simple by adding small flowers.

Here are a few more closer looks of the red candy boxes.

I hope you enjoyed my Red Gallery candy boxes, perfect little treats for Valentines Day.  This paper collection is now available at the Ruby Rock-It Brands website HERE, and at a Spotlight store near you.

Thanks for popping in and don’t forget to share the love.

Cheers,

Fun Times Together

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing an Asian inspired layout for ITAC (International Tournament of Art and Craft) 2017.  I love the rich colors and flowers of the orient, and I want these to convey in my layout.

asia1

Here is the Asia Challenge Board:

It should include at least one of the following elements

· Motifs inspired by mandalas

· Geometric shapes

· Tiles – ceramic, pantiles, glazed tiles, or their designs…

· Asiatic flowers, such as cherry blossom, chrysanthemum, orchids, lotus, Frangipani, lilies, hibiscus etc..

· Calligraphy or handwriting

· Fabric, faded or dyed

· Powdered pigments

I was inspired by the rich colors of the board and the flower.  My elements are geometric shapes, faded fabric, and powdered pigments.

Here’s my layout:

“Fun Times Together”

These Japanase kimonos (and ninja outfit) is gifted by family straight from her travels in Japan.  I love the beautiful oriental flowers, patterns and colors on them.

I’ve used some layers of faded fabric and splashes of 13Arts’ Rainbow Color Duo Powder (Navy Blue, Lilac), amongst other yummy 13Arts’ products:

Ayeeda Inks (Turquoise Glitter, Pink Glitter), Warm Gold Pearl Pigment, Glass Beads, Silver Glitter, Clear Gesso

I stamped and stencilled some geometric touches to the background, inspired by the red oriental shade and floral patterns.

I really love this photo of my girls, niece, and nephew altogether.  They have so much fun together and it’s so good to see.

I had fun creating this page and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  You can learn more about this exciting Asia challenge and be very inspired by ITAC 2017 — HERE.

I’ll be back to another art destination soon.

Cheers,

Mata Hari Inspired Mixed Media Artboard

It’s time to reveal Canvas Corp Brands’ September Challenge which is inspired by the Mata Hari:

MATA HARI……Spy or not? This intriguing woman of Dutch origin remains a mystery. However, THIS October it will be exactly 100 years ago she was executed. Rightfully so? Maybe we will find out after all these years. Her oriental style, costumes, elaborate jewelry… Plenty to inspire you to create something about this woman and help us celebrate her throughout September.

Rules:

To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool at The Creative Studio HERE. You have until the end of October 5 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered. One entry per person allowed.

We will invite the winner of the challenges to be our Guest Designer in November. This means that they will get a box filled with goodies from all 3 Canvas Corp Brands to play with.

Here’s my interpratation of the Mata Hari challenge:

“Architextures Mixed Media Artboard”

The Mata Hari in my eyes is every bit artistic, especially her style and the way she carries herself. These aspects have inspired me to create a mixed media Artboard with 7gypsies’ Architextures range. Touches of jewels, sparkle and golden shine adorn the artboard, much like the Mata Hari. Her statuesque presence is also the inspiration with the Weathered Statue which is the focal point of this piece.

For the instructions and full materials list of this Artboard, please head to the Creative Studio’s blog post HERE

We cannot wait to see all your beautiful Mata Hari inspired creations.  Simply link them up HERE and be in to win an amazing prize pack and a guest design spot next month.

I really enjoyed creating this Artboard and I’ll be back for more creations soon.

Cheers,

Proud Mom

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a layout which is very special to me, and it is also inspired by More Than Words’ May Challenge “Mother & Flowers”:

And Scrap The Girls’ May Mothers Challenge:

This layout shows how very proud I am to be a mom to my two gorgeous girls.  I cannot imagine life without my angels, and how very blessed we are to have our family.

“Proud Mom”

Of course I added lots of flowers inspired by this month’s challenge.  I also love the quote: “A flower cannot blossom without sunshine and man cannot live without love”.  Having each other gives us love and sunshine, and blossom as a family.  Also, if you look closely I added some Pohutukawa flower die cuts, representing home.

I used my Scrapmatts goodies for the stencil and chipboards.

Scrapmatts chipboards: Floral Spray (CB5052), Black Scrap Words 05 (CB1197), Leaves (CB1115), Black Scrap Words 32 (CB6113), Leaf Spray (CB5166)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Squares (ST5020)

All papers are from 13Arts’ Aura Rosa collection.  The mediums and paints are from 13Arts, Tattered Angels, and Tim Holtz.  It was a delight working with them all.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you’re having a great weekend.  Thanks to More Than Words’ and Scrap The Girls’ fab challenges and inspirations.  It’s nice to play along again. 🙂

Cheers,

Here’s my April “Feathers” project:

“Imagine” ATC Hanging Wall Art

Canvas Corp Brands Materials:

Tattered Angels:
Navy High Impact Paint
Chalkboard Mists: Grape Ape, Black Orchid, Splash, Chalk
Glimmer Mists: Sapphire, Night B4 Christmas, Dragonfly, Periwinkle Bouquet, Abominable Snowman, Pearl, Crushed Shells, Gold

Denim Fabric Sheet
Teal Burlap Flower

Cream Hank Braided Rope
Chocolate & Ivory Feathers Reverse 12×12 Paper

7 Gypsies: Lace Trimmings

I was inspired by the whole mood board…the gorgeous deep shades of blue and purple, the feathers, and the dream catcher.

I thought what a great idea it would be to transform an ATC into a hanging wall art inspired by the concept of dream catchers.

I’ve also used a couple of gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards and stencil for this project:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: ATC10-008 Rounded Corners 01, CB1028 Butterflies 18, CB1238 Scrap Words 24

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5033 Stencil Triangles

I really wanted to add layers and layers of color and texture throughout this hanging ATC wall art.  If you look closely you’ll see crackle here and there, dimensional butterflies against the stenciled triangles immersed in Tattered Angels paints.  I really love every single nook and cranny of this project.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join our awesome April “Feathers” Challenge.  Simply link up your entry HERE.  There’s an amazing prize pack and guest design spot up for grabs.  We can’t wait to see all your beautiful creations.  You’ve got 20 days to enter so get creating.

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Texture All ‘Round – A Wintery Hello Card

Seeing all my friends from the other side of the world having fun in the snow makes me dream of snowy landscapes and cozing up by the bonfire.  All this thinking got me inspired to create a wintery card with Fundamentals’ Cardstock and Bella’s  New York collection.

Wintery Hello CardChristine Santos

Bella materials: Join Together (New York) Paper, White Floral Fabric with Bling, Bella Florals, Silver Fabric Trim, Small Borderlines Bling, Fireworks Bling

Fundamentals materials: White Cardstock, Banners & Bubbles Wood Veneers

I’ve trimmed and layered the White Fundamentals Cardstock for my sturdy card base which is perfect for mixed media.  I then layered the gorgeous geometrical print of the Join Together from the New York collection.

Bella Florals adorn the center of the card, and on top is the Bubble Wood Veneer.  These are then surrounded with beautiful Bella Bling and Fabric.

A quick tip with Bella Bling: have fun layering your bling on top of each other for a different look.  This is my favourite tip when it comes to creating Bella projects, and I love the result every time.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope I’ve inspired you to create with Bella Bling and Florals.  For more Bella and Fundamentals, click here.

Courage – A Little Tribute To A Little Angel

Today I’m sharing something a little extra special for a little man’s tribute.  A group of crafters from around the world have gathered to create ATCs for a friend who’s lost her dearly beloved grandson from an accident.  We call it “The Little Man Memorial Project”.

I can never imagine anything more heartbreaking than losing someone in the family so early in their life.  My deepest sympathies goes to their dear family and I know that he will be happy and at peace in heaven now.  Here’s my heavenly ATC:

“Courage”

Heavenly Angel ATC

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Rounded Corner ATCs (ATC10-008); Flourishes (CB1003); Stars (CB1223); Leaves(CB1115); Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1200)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Borders (ST1010)

For a layer of texture on the ATC, I’ve applied some texture paste through the Borders Stencil.  Then, I’ve applied the same Tattered Angels colors throughout the front and back of both ATCS, achieving heavenly colors for a little boy.

032

Tattered Angels Materials: Chalkboard Mists (Teal High Heel, Splash, Chalk); Glimmer Mists (Mint Julep, Abominable Snowman)

I’ve used 2 ATCs and punched 2 holes on one side, and tied them with satin ribbons to double this ATC as a card as well.

004

I’ve added some texture to the leaves chipboard and colored it with the Mint Julep Glimmer Mist.  I then layered this behind the angel’s wings to make the angel pop.  This angel is also lying on the Courage Burnt Cream Scrapword chipboard.

002

For the fower petals, I’ve misted them with the Splash Chalkboard Mist and Abominable Snowman Glimmer Mist.  Once dry, I then painted the edges with the Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist.  For the Flourishes and Stars chipboards, I’ve simply painted them white, then misted them with the Chalk Chalkboard Mist for a hint of glimmer.  I’ve positioned the petals and flourishes upwards on top of the angel to represent the clouds going up to heaven.  Here’s one last look at the ATC card:

Always Smiling – A Watercoloring Fun Layout

Hi there! I’m back on my element which means it’s time for a new layout post.  It’s all about playing with watercolors & Scrapmatts stencils, springing out of a super fun photo.

“Always Smiling”

Always Smiling

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaf Sprays (ST5004); Circles (ST5006); Strings (ST1021); Paint Drips (1009)

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1238); Butterflies (CB1045)

I’ve used the beautiful Scrapmatts Leaf Sprays stencil as a resist pattern which really stands out from the vibrant colors.  Of course, I had to add more stenciling on this page.  Did you spot the Circles, Strings, & Paint Drips?

Thanks for looking, & I’ll be back soon for another Scrapmatts creation (it’s gonna be a goodie!).  For more Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils, visit their online shop here.
