Happy Easter to you!  It’s nice to be creating and blogging again after a very busy start to the month.  We have a new April “Feathers” Challenge up at the Creative Studio for Canvas Corp Brands:

This month we have a different prize – we will invite the winner of the challenge to be our Guest Designer in June. This means that you will get a box filled with goodies from all 3 Canvas Corp Brands to play with!

To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool HERE. You have until the end of May 5 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered.

Here’s my April “Feathers” project:

“Imagine” ATC Hanging Wall Art

Canvas Corp Brands Materials:

Tattered Angels:
Navy High Impact Paint
Chalkboard Mists: Grape Ape, Black Orchid, Splash, Chalk
Glimmer Mists: Sapphire, Night B4 Christmas, Dragonfly, Periwinkle Bouquet, Abominable Snowman, Pearl, Crushed Shells, Gold

Canvas Corp:
Denim Fabric Sheet
Teal Burlap Flower
Dark Blue Burlap Sheet
Sisal Rope
Natural Hank Cord Rope
Cream Hank Braided Rope
Chocolate & Ivory Feathers Reverse 12×12 Paper

7 Gypsies: Lace Trimmings

I was inspired by the whole mood board…the gorgeous deep shades of blue and purple, the feathers, and the dream catcher.

I thought what a great idea it would be to transform an ATC into a hanging wall art inspired by the concept of dream catchers.

I’ve also used a couple of gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards and stencil for this project:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: ATC10-008 Rounded Corners 01, CB1028 Butterflies 18, CB1238 Scrap Words 24

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5033 Stencil Triangles

I really wanted to add layers and layers of color and texture throughout this hanging ATC wall art.  If you look closely you’ll see crackle here and there, dimensional butterflies against the stenciled triangles immersed in Tattered Angels paints.  I really love every single nook and cranny of this project.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join our awesome April “Feathers” Challenge.  Simply link up your entry HERE.  There’s an amazing prize pack and guest design spot up for grabs.  We can’t wait to see all your beautiful creations.  You’ve got 20 days to enter so get creating.

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Cheers,

My Lovely Story

Happy St. Patrick’s day everyone! I’d like to share my March layout class with you which I’ve had a pleasure teaching to the lovely ladies that attended and purchased the kits.   Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You inspire me to brew up more ideas and classes, and you keep me coming back to teach more.  Here’s my layout:

“My Lovely Story”

This layout features Blue Fern Studios’ super gorgeous Memoires collection, which was a big hit in the class.  So what’s the story behind the photos? My daughter is flaunting here rosy teething cheeks, she’s such a trooper the annoying pain littlies usually get doesn’t seem to faze her.

For more updates on my classes and kits, you can subscribe to the Scrapaholics newsletter here.

That’s it for today’s post.  Thanks for stopping by and may the luck of the Irish be with you.  Have a great weekend!

Cheers,

Celebrate One

Good day! I’ve been very busy with family and work commitments lately which meant I wasn’t able to create for More Than Words’ December Challenge.  So for this month I made sure I had time to create for the awesome January challenge which is “Celebrate & Bling”:

mtw-201701-main

Can I just say that I looooove this challenge.  Bling runs in my scrapbooking veins :).  Here’s my layout:

“Celebrate One”

Celebrate One Today

This is my youngest daughter’s 1st birthday photos which I adore so much.  She’s a few years older now but that doesn’t stop me from scrapping and reminiscing on older photos, celebrations, and treasured memories.

018

I’ve used some Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils for texture, dimension, and title for my page.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Nested Stars (CB5021), Assorted Words (CB6116), Butterflies (CB1045), Scrap Words (CB1237)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaf Spray (ST5004), Strings (ST1021)

012

I really wanted the photos to stand out which is why I opted for a full on black background with shimmery pearl and white touches.  To achieve this I used my trusty Tattered Angels paints.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Pearl, Graphite, It’s Black

Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mists: Chalk, Admiral, Monolith

0131

I embossed the stars chipboards with some glittery black embossing powder and then layered these under the photo.  The photos are framed with black glittered paper.

I misted the Admiral Chalkboard Mist and the Graphite and It’s Black Glimmer Mist onto my flowers to blend with the black background.

0101

For the butterflies, I simply misted the Monolith Chalkboard mist for a subtle addition of color.  For the title chipboard, I simply painted it white and then added a coat of Chalk Chalkboard mist for added glimmer.

023

The shimmery background is made up of the Pearl Glimmer Mist, Admiral and Chalk Chalkboard Mists.  It’s all finished off with the addition of a variety of bling around the layout.

026

So there’s my blinged up, glittery and shimmery celebration layout.  Thanks to More Than Words for the awesome challenge and thanks for popping in.

Texture All ‘Round – A Wintery Hello Card

Seeing all my friends from the other side of the world having fun in the snow makes me dream of snowy landscapes and cozing up by the bonfire.  All this thinking got me inspired to create a wintery card with Fundamentals’ Cardstock and Bella’s  New York collection.

Wintery Hello CardChristine Santos

Bella materials: Join Together (New York) Paper, White Floral Fabric with Bling, Bella Florals, Silver Fabric Trim, Small Borderlines Bling, Fireworks Bling

Fundamentals materials: White Cardstock, Banners & Bubbles Wood Veneers

I’ve trimmed and layered the White Fundamentals Cardstock for my sturdy card base which is perfect for mixed media.  I then layered the gorgeous geometrical print of the Join Together from the New York collection.

Bella Florals adorn the center of the card, and on top is the Bubble Wood Veneer.  These are then surrounded with beautiful Bella Bling and Fabric.

A quick tip with Bella Bling: have fun layering your bling on top of each other for a different look.  This is my favourite tip when it comes to creating Bella projects, and I love the result every time.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope I’ve inspired you to create with Bella Bling and Florals.  For more Bella and Fundamentals, click here.

You & Me Mixed Media Canvas

Good day.  How’s your Christmas countdown going so far? It’s one of the busiest time of the year and it’s also one of my favourites as I get to create lots of crafty presents.  Today I’m sharing a canvas that I made for a friend, which she gives to her family as a present at least once a year.  It is inspired by Prima’s December Build-A-Page:

Here’s my canvas:

“You & Me”

You & Me Canvas

I added some beautiful cut outs from the Rosibelle collection for my canvas.

022

I wanted a fresh, metallic look all over the canvas and I’m really happy with the result.

020

I’ve used a couple of Prima stencils along with Finnabair’s Art Ingredients for texture.

025

The title beside the cluster of Prima flowers is from the Something Blue collection.

Thanks so much for popping in, and thanks to Prima for the awesome sketch and beautiful inspirations.  There’s heaps more Prima eye candy here.

Rosibelle Two Ways – A Play On Copper

Hello and happy weekend! I had an awesome time teaching at Scrapaholics for my last class and today I get to share it with you.  It’s two clean layouts with a play on copper from the gorgeous Rosibelle collection by Prima.  All the ladies’ layouts turned out beautifully and we all used different size and amount of photos on each page.

“Wrapped With Love”

Best Friend

This first layout has heaps of copper on it, on the background and accents around the page.  Some of the ladies used a bigger photo and some used more than one photo which turned out brilliant.

Next up is a multi-photo layout.

“Me & You”

Me & You

In this page are little hints of copper to accent the papers and colored photos.  The ladies had fun having  a play and experimenting on which photos to use and add to their layouts.  One of them even created a fun masculine page with four photos from this layout, and the result is amazing.

Now it’s time for me to add the finishing touches to my layout for next month’s class.  Hint: it’ll be very different from my previous classes, and it’s masculine (oooohh!!!).  It’ll go live on the Scrapaholics website next week here.

I’d like to give a huge thank you to all the lovely ladies who attended my classes, I really enjoy having each and every one of you there.  You lot constantly give me the inspiration to create and teach everytime.  So much fun, creating, and catching up to do, eh?  See you at next month’s class. 🙂

Cheers,
