First I painted the Christmas tree chipboard with red paint and let it dry overnight.

I stencilled through the Damask stencil on the bottom chipboard layer of the painted tree and let it set completely.

I then assembled the tree, generously adding glue for sturdiness.

I added the gorgeous red Christmas chipboards to adorn the tree and added clusters of flowers as well.

I added a few dots of glitter on some of the chipboards to match the stencilled background.  I finished it all off with white splatters around for a frosty look.

I had fun creating my mini red Christmas tree and I just love the gorgeous red Christmas chipboards range from Scrapmatts.  You can find them all HERE.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you’ve enjoyed Scrapmatts’ inspiration throughout 2017.  We thank you and appreciate all your lovely comments and we will back for more Scrapmatts creations for 2018.

Cheers,

Fun Times Together

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing an Asian inspired layout for ITAC (International Tournament of Art and Craft) 2017.  I love the rich colors and flowers of the orient, and I want these to convey in my layout.

Here is the Asia Challenge Board:

It should include at least one of the following elements

· Motifs inspired by mandalas

· Geometric shapes

· Tiles – ceramic, pantiles, glazed tiles, or their designs…

· Asiatic flowers, such as cherry blossom, chrysanthemum, orchids, lotus, Frangipani, lilies, hibiscus etc..

· Calligraphy or handwriting

· Fabric, faded or dyed

· Powdered pigments

I was inspired by the rich colors of the board and the flower.  My elements are geometric shapes, faded fabric, and powdered pigments.

Here’s my layout:

“Fun Times Together”

These Japanase kimonos (and ninja outfit) is gifted by family straight from her travels in Japan.  I love the beautiful oriental flowers, patterns and colors on them.

I’ve used some layers of faded fabric and splashes of 13Arts’ Rainbow Color Duo Powder (Navy Blue, Lilac), amongst other yummy 13Arts’ products:

Ayeeda Inks (Turquoise Glitter, Pink Glitter), Warm Gold Pearl Pigment, Glass Beads, Silver Glitter, Clear Gesso

I stamped and stencilled some geometric touches to the background, inspired by the red oriental shade and floral patterns.

I really love this photo of my girls, niece, and nephew altogether.  They have so much fun together and it’s so good to see.

I had fun creating this page and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  You can learn more about this exciting Asia challenge and be very inspired by ITAC 2017 — HERE.

I’ll be back to another art destination soon.

Cheers,

Proud Mom

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a layout which is very special to me, and it is also inspired by More Than Words’ May Challenge “Mother & Flowers”:

And Scrap The Girls’ May Mothers Challenge:

This layout shows how very proud I am to be a mom to my two gorgeous girls.  I cannot imagine life without my angels, and how very blessed we are to have our family.

“Proud Mom”

Of course I added lots of flowers inspired by this month’s challenge.  I also love the quote: “A flower cannot blossom without sunshine and man cannot live without love”.  Having each other gives us love and sunshine, and blossom as a family.  Also, if you look closely I added some Pohutukawa flower die cuts, representing home.

I used my Scrapmatts goodies for the stencil and chipboards.

Scrapmatts chipboards: Floral Spray (CB5052), Black Scrap Words 05 (CB1197), Leaves (CB1115), Black Scrap Words 32 (CB6113), Leaf Spray (CB5166)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Squares (ST5020)

All papers are from 13Arts’ Aura Rosa collection.  The mediums and paints are from 13Arts, Tattered Angels, and Tim Holtz.  It was a delight working with them all.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you’re having a great weekend.  Thanks to More Than Words’ and Scrap The Girls’ fab challenges and inspirations.  It’s nice to play along again. 🙂

Cheers,

His & Hers

Let’s take a moment to honor the ANZAC soldiers who fought for our freedom.  They are heroes that will forever resonate and leave a mark of fortitude and honor.  ‘Lest we forget.

Today I’m sharing a mini mixed media printer’s tray with Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils, mixed with 13Arts’ His & Hers paper collection and mediums.

I’m very fortunate to have worked with the amazing Aida Domisiewicz during Autumn Escape 2017.  She is the sweetest and loveliest artist I’ve met and I’m in awe with her work and 13Arts products.  I got her His & Hers collection and a variety of her media on my hot hands and incorporated them all on the printer’s tray.

13Arts materials: United Forever Paper, Multi Medium, White Gesso, Modelling Paste, Lilac Rainbow Color Duo, White Splash Ink, Pink Glitter Splash Ink, Gold Glitter Splash Ink, Warm Gold Shiny Powder, D5 Glass Spheres, D3 Glass Spheres, Silver Mica Flakes, Silver Glitter

I’ll do another post very soon with all the excitement and photos of Autumn Escape 2017.  It really was Autumn Escape’s best yet and I reckon it will be very hard to top this one off.

I couldn’t help but create straight away as soon as I got a set of delicious 13Arts products.  I had such a blast making this mini tray from start to finish and I hope you enjoyed today’s post.
