Autumn Birthday Card

May brings in our part of the world the beauty of Autumn and today I am sharing with you an Autumn inspired birthday card.  I just love the colours of this season and this has inspired me to create this card.

Ruby Rock-It Brands materials: Franchville Neutrals Cardstock, Fundamentals Birthday Sentiment Stickers

Ranger Distress Inkpads: Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain, Foam Applicator

Other: Sizixx dies

First I have die cut the front of the card and then blended the Distress Ink colours onto a blending mat, giving it a good mix of colours.

With another white cardstock, die cut a few leaves and acorn, and shade them with different colours using the same variety of Distress inks.  Layer these onto the card with the acorn on top of all the leaves.

Adhere the Birthday Sentiment Sticker onto the remaining white cardstock and cut this out.  Lastly, adhere this onto the top of the card.

I had a blast creating this card and now it’s time for me to give this to someone special.  I hope you enjoyed our cardmaking month and all of the Francvhille, Fundamentals, and Ranger Distress Inkpads are available at your nearest Spotlight store.  You can also have a look at the full Ruby Rock-It Brands range HERE.

To Have & To Hold

New year has come exciting for the Ruby Rock-It Brands headquarters.  We have a selection of amazing new collections available and today I’m excited to share with you my layout featuring Bella’s Steamworks collection.

Isn’t it delicious? The possibilities are endless with this collection.  For my post today, I would like to show you a sweet and romantic layout.

Ruby Rock-It Brands materials: Bella Steamworks Collection (Clockwork, Odds & Ends, Invention); Bella Silver Glittered Cardstock; Franchville White Mini Doilies; Ruby Rock-It Christmas Cheer Alpha Chipboard

I’ve used the gorgeous Clockworks paper as the base of my layout.  The print of this paper together with the photo jump started my imagination straight away.

I trimmed some strips and images off the Invention and Odds & Ends paper and layer this onto my page amongst a couple of pretty Franchville Mini White Doilies.  I then added layers of mediums and paints to my background.

I framed the picture with Bella’s Silver Glittered Cardstock to give it a lift from the paper layers.  I then added a flower cluster by the photo to enhance the bouquet pictured.

To finish the page, I painted the Ruby Rock-It Christmas Cheer Alpha Chipboards and added this on for the sweet layout title.

I hope you like my layout as I thoroughly enjoyed the creating it.  The Steamworks collection is now available at a Spotlight store near you.  Check out the full range HERE.

I’ll be back for more Ruby Rock-It inspiration.

Cheers,

Dad’s Day Distress Card

There’s only three weeks to go until we celebrate the special fathers in our lives.  My family love this time of the year as we honor dad, and what better way to express this by creating a Father’s Day card.

Materials: Franchville Neutrals Cardstock, Family Man Collection

Ranger Distress Inkpads: Mowed Lawn, Gathered Twigs, Aged Mahogany, Hickory Smoke, Old Paper, Walnut Stain, Chipped Sapphire

Other: Ranger Sponge Applicators

I started with the white cardstock from the Franchville Neutrals Cardstock set and then blended different shades of Ranger’s Distress Inkpad sets with the sponge applicator to achieve a layered grungy depth to my masculine card.

I then fussy cut some image and letters from Bella’s awesome Family Man paper collection and added this on the card, perfect for dad’s day.  I finished it all off with some stamping and more distress ink application around the card…so much fun!

Don’t forget to create something special for dad’s day.  I hope you enjoyed today’s post and you can check out more of Ruby Rock-It Brands HERE.  These are also available to purchase along with the Ranger Distress Inkpad range at a Spotlight store near you.

Go! Sports Album

Hi there! It’s time to share another fun new Bella paper collection which I have transformed into a mini sports album.  Here’s the awesome Doodles collection, hot off the press:

Bella materials: Doodles Paper Collection, Corrugated Cardboard (Pink, Silver, Blue, Black)

Fundamentals materials: White Cardstock, Candy Red Cardstock, Stars and Hearts Wood Veneers

Lots of painting and inky fun happened on every page page of this sporty mini album, with the help of Ranger’s Distress Inkpads and Foam Applicators:

Ranger Distress Inkpads: Candied Apple, Mermaid Lagoon, Foam Applicators

I started by trimming some white cardstock for the album base and then layered different prints for each page from Bella’s fun Doodles collection.

I’ve then die cut different shapes and words from my old collection of dies with Bella’s Corrugated Cardstock and added these to the pages.  I just love using my stash, dusting off old goodies and putting them to use.

I then added the 6 x 4 photos on the pages, with the exception of 1 photo which I trimmed down smaller.  Most of them are framed with Fundamentals’ White Cardstock.

I then applied some Candied Apple and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inkpad shades on the pages.  I did this by squeezing the inkpads onto my craft mat and then spritzing some water onto it.

For more color saturation, simply wet your brush a little and dip this onto the inkpad and apply it where desired.  You can also use the Ranger Foam Applicator for direct color application.

Use the excess wet color on the craft mat for splattering, my favourite step of all for no wastage.

The last photo of my daughter dear and her lovely friends is framed with Fundamentals’ Candy Red Cardstock.  I just love the extra pop of color it gives.

I stamped the Fundamentals’ Hearts Wood Veneers around the photo with the Candied Apple Distress Inkpad.  These are so cute and versatile, and I couldn’t resist stamping with them.

My daughter had a blast with her first Weetbix Tryathlon and it is definitely not her last one.  She told me her favourite leg was the cycling, and I reckon she did an awesome job throughout.  I am so proud of her…you go my growing girl!

Thanks for popping in and I hope I’ve inspired you to create with Bella’s Doodle collection.  These are available to purchase at a Spotlight store near you and can soon be purchased on the Ruby Rock-It Brands website HERE.

Cheers,

Blue Christmas Star

I have been putting up Christmas decorations at home with my daughters and they are particularly excited with our Christmas tree.  Every year I try to come up with at least one handmade Christmas tree decoration, and this year I created a glittery blue star.

Franchville materials: Blue Glitter Pack

Bella materials: Antique Floral Bling, Blue Borderlines Bling

This is a very special Christmas tree decor star, as the wooden star base is purchased to support children at the Auckland Starship Hospital.  It is such a good cause to support and you get an awesome wooden star to keep.

I generously sprinkled the Blue Franchville Glitter Set on the wooden star, starting with the darkest blue shade then progressing to the lightest blue.  I let each layer of blue glitter set before adding the next, finishing it off sparingly with the silver glitter.

I then added a small strip of Blue Bella Borderlines Bling across the bottom and layers of the Blue Antique Floral Bling on the middle.  Some more sprinkling of blue and silver glitter are added on top and voila! A very special glittery blue Christmas star for a good cause.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed my Christmas tree decor share today.  All Franchville Glitter Sets and Bella Bling are available to purchase at a Spotlight store near you.

Dear Santa Christmas Card

Hi there and happy August to you! Do you know that there’s only 20 more weeks to go before Christmas?  This has got me started, gradually creating my Christmas cards.  This year I plan on making each card extra special, and today I get to share with you my 2017 Christmas Card #1:

Franchville materials: Metallic Card and Envelope Set

Bella Materials: Raspberry Glittered Cardstock, Black Flourish Bling, Black Bella Florals, True Love 3D Sticker Sheet, Round Buckle

Fundamentals Materials: White Lettering on Black Sticker Sheet

Other: Tattered Angels Paints and Mists

The White Metallic Franchville Card is the perfect base for this frosty feel Christmas card.  I’m also pleasantly surprised on how well it held amongst all the wet mediums I’ve layered on top.

For added glitz and color all in one, I’ve layered some of Bella’s gorgeous Raspberry Glittered Cardstock.  It’s such a lovely shade of pinkish red that’s not overly bright.

To perfect the color combination, I added a cluster of pretty Black Bella Florals on the middle of the card.  I then surrounded it with some more glitzy touches of Black Flourish Bling.

I also added some pieces from the True Love 3D Sticker Sheet amongst the florals, together with a Round Bella Buckle.

The numbers and alphas for the title is from Fundamentals’ Alphabet Sticker Sheet.  These are perfect little additions to any project and come in different sizes per pack.

It’s all finished off with lashings of Tattered Angels’ paints and mists around the red, black and white frosty Christmas card.

Thanks so much for popping in and I hope I’ve inspired you today.  Check out all the range of Bella, Fundamentals, and Franchville goodies HERE.

Hooray Mixed Media Card

Happy July to you! Today I’m excited to share with you my colorful mixed media celebration card with Franchville’s Bright Yellow Card and Bella’s Glittered Cardstock.

“Hooray, Big Day”

Franchville materials: Brights Card & Envelope Set

Bella materials: Glittered Cardstock (Watermelon; Black), White Florals, True Love 3D Sticker, Round Ribbon Buckle, Black Foiled Heart Seal, Raw & Rustic Stamp

I’ve die cut some pineapples with the Watermelon and Black Glittered Cardstock and layered them on top of each other.

Bright yellows remind me of fun pineapples, which is why I made the glittery layered pineapple the centrepiece of my card.  I then surrounded it with Bella Florals and topped with a dimensional blinged sentiment from the True Love 3D Sticker Sheet.

I’ve layered my painted background and added some texture with the versatile Raw & Rustic Stamp Set.  I’ve also painted the Bella Round Ribbon Buckle to match the Bright Yellow Franchville Card, tying the whole look together.  I finished it off with some sprinkling of fine glitter on top.

So there’s my glittery pineapple mixed media card, Bella style.  You can never have too many celebration cards in your stash just in case.  Thanks for popping and do check out the great range of Bella goodies HERE.

Cheers,
