Most Wonderful Time

Good day.  We’re almost onto December & this has got me inspired to create festive projects lately.  I love Scrap Around the World’s festive November mood board:

My main inspiration is the wooden star on top of the lit tree, & also the top left image’s white wood & “Most Wonderful Time” sentiment.

“Most Wonderful Time”

Most Wonderful Time

This is my first mixed media Christmas layout, & I had fun creating it :).  We don’t get snow in our side of the world but I really wanted to add some “white” touches to the page, hence the splatters of white paint.

I’ve added some media on the hessian paper & layered a star silhouette cut out from a white wood paper.  This is then layered under the sepia photo, giving it a nice frame &  just the right amount of texture & shimmery color.  Various alpha stickers are added at the right side as inspired by the board.  I’ve added a little touch of heart on the photo as well.

She’s very happy & delighted to have Santa visit & give her a present from her preschool.  She couldn’t stop talking about it to everyone for weeks! 🙂

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you enjoyed my post today.  A big thanks also for the fab inspirations of the SATW team.  Enjoy the rest of your month!

Rainbow Love

Hi there.  How’s it going? My daughter has started going to school & I’m so happy seeing her enjoying it.  This year has gone by so quickly & before you know it, it’s already Christmas!

Today I’m posting a layout for Scrap Around the World’s super awesome October mood board by Heather Mcmahon:

It is very inspiring & as a lover of rainbow colors, I simply had to join in the fun.  I went outside my comfort zone & used white background instead of patterned paper.  I did not even add any paper layers at all.  Here’s my layout:

“Rainbow Love”

My main inspirations are the top left image of colorful burst of ink & the bottom middle image of circles & kaleidoscope of rainbow colors.

Even the black & white photo is die cut round to match my youngest daughter’s round face & cheeks : ).  Surrounding it are a variety of circles in different colors & applications.  Chipboards, beads & colors are layered & it’s all finished off with a cherub resin, camera charm & a few flowers to surround a cute toothy smile.

Thanks so much for popping in & I hope you enjoyed my post today.  There’s heaps more amazing inspiration at Scrap Around the World here, so do check it out.  Have a great day!

Love, Adore, Cherish

Hi there.  So nice of you to drop by.  Today I’m sharing a layout for Scrap Around the World’s beautiful July mood board by Pam Ellis (one of my favourite SATW DT member :)):

My main inspiration is the top right image with the lovely blue colors & the butterfly, plus the pink color of the staircase.  Here’s my layout:

“Love Adore Cherish”

Love, Adore, Cherish

I was very inspired from Louise Nelson’s techniques from SENZ last weekend.  She’s such an awesome artist & thanks heaps for the wonderful class, & I sure had a good time!  The use of chipboards, wire & beads I learned from her, & I applied that to suit my layout.  I added a faint water coloring of pink to the edges of the cardstock, & I applied this color to the butterflies as well.  It’s a pretty good match to the mood board’s color, plus I do love the color pink 🙂

Of course I had to add a few flowers (not too much, lol), some texture paste through a star stencil, & just a hint of stamps & splatters, & most importantly the journaling.

Thanks so much for all the lovely inspirations, I do appreciate them.  I hope you’re having a great month! 🙂

Good day it is! The sun is finally shining & has put a stop to the grotty wet winter weather.  Please Mr. Sunshine last all the way through the weekend!!! I’m also finally getting over the flu & had the chance to create a layout & play along my favourite scrappy challenges.  First up is Scrap Around The World’s decadent, celebratory mood board by Helen Tilbury:

My main inspirations are the round sprinkles on the martini glass, the pearl studs on the high heels, & the saying: “Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated!”

I’ve combined it with Prima’s May BAP, sketch designed by Jennifer Snyder:

Here’s my layout:

My daughter’s photo here was taken on an ordinary day, but we decided to play dress up anyway.  She’s got a shiny & ruffled pink dress on & what a great day it was! There’s so much fun to be had with young kids 🙂

The photo is framed with Prima’s burlap sheet.  I love the Stripes resist canvas, which I’ve misted with my Prima Color Bloom Sprays & Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, keeping to the purple & brown colors from the Butterfly tags & papers.

Isn’t the gold glittery heart on the stick just adorable?  Lots of pearls, bling & stars which is inspired by the mood board’s pearl studs, decadence & round sprinkles.  The Licorice Glass Beads ,cabachons, stencil, & stamps are from Finnabair, except for the heart stamp which is from the Butterfly collection as well, & the rectangle stitch stamp from Prima.

Thanks heaps to the team of artistic souls from Scrap Around the World & Prima who always inspire me.  And thanks for taking the time to drop in 🙂

Curly & Cute

Hi there, how’s it going? Only a few more sleeps to go & we’re onto a new month! Oh how time flies.  Last night I got inspired & made some time to scrap.  I created a layout featuring the gorgeous curly locks of my daughter.  I’m entering it for Sketchabilities Sketch #133:

And the gorgeous February Scrap Around the World mood board by Tatiana Sidorenko :

The main inspiration I took from the board is the beautiful hair.  I was also inspired by the lovely green colors, curls/swirls & the lush fauna.  Here’s my layout:

“Curly & Cute”

Curly & Cute

I’ve die cut a few swirly leaves in green & stone color/print paper for the cluster.  I also stamped some leaves on a couple of corners.

I added some strips of light lime green bling at different angles.

I painted the letter chipboards black, then embossed them gold with a woodgrain stamp (except for the letter “y” which is the left over from the chipboard piece).

I shaped a heart from one of the mini paper bloom’s stem.  Isn’t it so cute? 🙂

I added some seafoam green color to the heart veneers, inked the edges & added some alpha stickers on top.  I’ve die cut some doilies from some light yellow green vellum, then folded them in half.

So there’s my layout.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  I got so inspired by the gorgeous photos, I couldn’t stop creating this page last night (I had to restrain myself at some point, so as not to overdo the layout…lol!).  Again, thanks so much for all the inspirations & I look forward to next month.  Thanks for popping in & have a great day! 🙂

Hi there.  How was your Christmas? I hope December is treating you well.  ‘Tis the season to be thankful, so I got inspired to scrap my daughters, as they make me the luckiest mom ever! I’m entering this layout for the following challenges:

I really enjoyed working with the delightful sketch & moodboard.  As you can see, the main inspiration for the moodboard are the blue chevron prints, as well as the heart from the bottom left image.  Thank you for inspiring me & I look forward to a great new year!

You Inspire Me

Hi there.  So nice of you to drop by.  I’ve created a layout based on 2 challenges.  The first is from Once Upon A Sketch, & the theme for this month is “Inspiration”.  Here is the November sketch:

The second is from Scrap Around the World, & here is the November moodboard:

I was inspired by this lovely moodboard’s doilies & flowers.  Here’s my entry:

“You Inspire Me”

You Inspire Me

My journaling is written at the back, stating that my daughter has always been an inspiration for me.  She always shows me how to be happy & to enjoy life everyday.  Her bright personality & outlook on things is so infectious.  She inspires me to be a better mom every time, especially when I’m not having the best of days.  Most importantly, she has taught, & is still teaching me that I’ve done a great achievement in my life.

That’s it for me today.  I hope you’ve had a great month so far.
