Black & Gold – A 7Gypsies Postcard

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a postcard I’ve sent to a fellow Canvas Corp Brands creative crew member, using the gorgeous Wanderlust and American Vintage papers from 7 Gypsies.

A postcard is also called a picture postcard.  It is a small, commercially printed card, usually having a picture on one side and space for a short message on the other.  It is flat and is usually sent without an envelope.

The postcard I created is not exactly a traditional postcard, which is why I love the result even more.  Have a look and let me know what you think:

7 Gypsies Postcard

7 Gypsies Materials: Open New Doors Paper (Wanderlust Collection); Wish You Were Here Paper (American Vintage Collection); Antique Brass Mini Hanger; Antique Gold Key; Black Lace Trimming

Tattered Angels Materials: Black High Impact Paint; Gold Glimmer Mist

Canvas Corp Materials: Natural Hank Rope; Natural Jute Rope

I trimmed one postcard section of the Wish You Were Here paper for the base of my postcard.  I then unevenly painted it with the Black High Impact Paint while watering down some parts for a more fluid look.  Once dry, I then misted some delicious Gold Glimmer Mist on top of the paint.  I always find myself using this glimmer mist and the coverage is incomparable to other mists in the market.

The upper paper layers are from the Open New Doors paper, and in between is the beautiful black lace trimming.  Here’s a quick look at the Open New Doors paper from 7 Gypsies’ Wanderlust collection:

For some texture and fun touches, I’ve added the Antique Brass Metal Hanger, Antique Gold Key, Natural Hank and Jute Ropes, and some more Gold Glimmer Mist.  Here’s one last closer look at the postcard:

Last but not the least, I’d like to say a very big thank you to Jorunn Langas for the gorgeous postcard.  I love all the frames and beautiful colors and messages🙂.

Thanks for dropping in.  Check out what some of the creative crew have come up here.

My Teddy, My Friend

Hi there, how’s your weekend going?  Today I’m sharing a layout for More Than Words’ August Friends & Circles Challenge:

I’ve used some yummy Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils, & my favourite Tattered Angels mists & Canvas Corp papers.

“My Teddy, My Friend”

My Teddy, My Friend

I totally love everything about this challenge…it had me at circles & friends! My daughter from when she started sleeping in her cot, wouldn’t sleep without her friend teddy.  I say thank goodness for teddy bear, she sleeps well most nights.  Now that she’s nearly 6, she still has it in her bedroom.

Canvas Corp Materials: Baby Girl Words on Ivory Paper; Baby Girl Quotes on Ivory Paper; Pink & Ivory Toile Paper

Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mists: Splash; Teal High Heel; Chalk

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Navy Blue; Cadillac Pink; Abominable Snowman

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Ornate Frame (CB6011); Hearts Frame (CB4005); Butterflies (CB1045); Stars String Circles (CB5138); Black Scrap Words (CB1237)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Cobblestones (ST5014); Circles (ST5006)

I’ve embossed the frame white, & I love how it frames her sweet picture.  They look so peaceful & heavenly when they’re asleep, quiet & behaved like that, eh? :)  I’ve inked the butterflies & stars chipboards white to match the white shades of the frame & the layout.

I didn’t skimp on adding lots of different circles on the page.  I’ve used Finnabair’s Art Stones & Art Melange (some I’ve used upside down), buttons, pearls, bling, circles on the frame, circles on the lace, round doily, circles stencil & pink circle roses.

For the hearts chipboard, I’ve given it a coat of Tim Holtz’s grit paste.  Once dry, I then misted it with Tattered Angels Cadillac Pink Glimmer Mist.  I’ve also applied this paste on my background, along with some good ol’ texture paste through Scrapmatts’ Cobblestones Stencil.

Behind the Baby Girl Words on Ivory Paper is a layer of the Pink & Ivory Toile Paper which I’ve lightly colored with the same Cadillac Pink Glimmer Mist.  For the burst of blues around the frame, I’ve layered the delicious Splash, Teal High Heel, & Navy Chalkboard Mists.  I’ve finished it all off by adding some mica flakes & some subtle glitter.

Thanks for popping in.  I enjoyed creating this page & thank you for the superb inspiration from the More Than Words creative team.

Die Cutting Fun With Fundamentals Cardstock

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing some cards I created with the awesome new colors & embellishments of the Fundamentals range.  My daughter is turning 6 in a few months which means I better get her birthday invitations ready.  Here’s a glimpse of her fun & colorful invitations:

6th Birthday Party InvitationsChristine Santos

Fundamentals Products: Cardstock (Candy Red, Sky, Buttercup, Shamrock, Rose, Bubblegum, White, Serenity Blue); Mini Pegs & Embossed Tags (Gelato, Spring, Vintage); Gelato Butterflies

I’ve used my nesting circle dies to create these adorable little girl’s invitations.  You can get 2 circle card bases from 1 Fundamentals DL Cardstock.  To add some texture, I’ve embossed the top circle layer with a heart embossing folder.  Hearts, butterflies, circles & pretty colors…perfect for a fun little girl’s card.

I wanted to show off how beautifully the new Fundamentals Cardstock colors mix & match together, & how easy they are to create with.  Pair them with the new Embossed Tags, Mini Clothespins & Butterflies to complete the look.

Next up is a Wedding Anniversary card, & we’re going to the other end of the color spectrum.

Congratulations CardChristine Santos

Fundamentals Products: Silver Square Cardstock; White Embossed Tags; Silver Butterflies; Mini Sentiments Sticker

Bella Products: White Fabric Trim; Silver Bella Bling & Fabric Floral

I’ve also made a quick & easy step by step tutorial for this Wedding Anniversary silver card:

  1. Die cut the upper half of the Silver Fundamentals Square Cardstock with a swirl die.  Die cut only the front of the card.
  2. Adhere the die cut swirl, offset from the swirl pattern on the card.
  3. Remove half of the bling from the Bella Silver Fabric Floral & adhere this on the left side of the card, layering it among the die cut swirls.
  4. Cut a White Fundamentals Embossed Scallop Tag into a smaller piece, & then adhere a Mini Sentiment Sticker on top.  Adhere this on top of the silver fabric flower.
  5. Trim a small piece off a White Bella Fabric Trim & adhere this under the sentiment.
  6. Finish it off by adhering some layered Fundamentals Silver Butterflies, fluttering around the flower & swirls.  Here’s a closer look:0231

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Check out the new Fundamentals range here, there’s a range of beautiful colors to choose from for any occasion.

Always Smiling – A Watercoloring Fun Layout

Hi there! I’m back on my element which means it’s time for a new layout post.  It’s all about playing with watercolors & Scrapmatts stencils, springing out of a super fun photo.

“Always Smiling”

Always Smiling

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaf Sprays (ST5004); Circles (ST5006); Strings (ST1021); Paint Drips (1009)

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1238); Butterflies (CB1045)

As you’ve noticed by now, I just love scrapping my daughter’s cheeky photos together…they make creating much more inspirational & fun! The title is from the versatile Burnt Cream Scrap Words set, & the Butterflies chipboards are painted white to suit the page.

I’ve used the beautiful Scrapmatts Leaf Sprays stencil as a resist pattern which really stands out from the vibrant colors.  Of course, I had to add more stenciling on this page.  Did you spot the Circles, Strings, & Paint Drips?

Thanks for looking, & I’ll be back soon for another Scrapmatts creation (it’s gonna be a goodie!).  For more Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils, visit their online shop here.

It’s an awesome card sketch, & I couldn’t resist playing along.  Here’s my card:

“Hey Classy Chick”

Hey Classy Chick Card

I’ve used the Porcelainware paper from the Garden Fable collection for my card.

The word stickers are from the Sunrise Sunset collection, & the gorgeous flowers are Esperanza & Royal Menagerie.

For the background, I’ve used a couple of my favourite Prima stencils & stamps.  Did I mention how amaze-balls the Say It In Crystals are?  They’re mesmerizing!

I wanted a fun take on the gorgeous Garden Fable collection, & I’m pleased with how the card turned out.  Thanks for dropping in & have a great day!

Autumn ATC Trio

Hello, I’m back with another Scrapmatts & Tattered Angels project post.  This time, it’s a trio of ATCs.  Autumn has passed in our side of the world, & this made me miss the season’s beautiful colors.  I would much rather prefer Autumn compared to winter, that’s for sure!

Here’s my ATCS:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Rounded Corner ATCs (ATC10-008); Page Borders (CB2005); Leaves (CB1115); Burnt Cream Scrap Words (CB1238)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaves (ST1034); Borders (ST1010)

Tattered Angels materials: Barn Red Glimmer Mist; Black Cherry Glimmer Mist; Marigold Glimmer Mist; Gold Glimmer Mist; Alaskan Salmon Chalkboard Mist; Cowboy Glimmer Glaze

The Scrapmatts Leaves Stencil is absolutely perfect for any Autumn projects.  For more leafy touches, I’ve added some Leaves chipboards which I’ve inked gold.  At the edges of ATCs 1 & 3 are the Page Borders chipboards.  The words are from the Burnt Cream Scrap Words Chipboards.

For the background I’ve combined the Barn Red, Marigold, Gold Glimmer Mists & Alaskan Salmon Chalkboard Mist.  I’ve painted the paper leaves with the Black Cherry Glimmer Mist, as well as the Page Borders chipboards.  Then, I’ve painted the edges of the Scrap Words & the edges of the rounded ATC chipboards with some Cowboy Glimmer Glaze.

That’s it for today’s post.  Thanks for dropping by & I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Check the Scrapmatts shop here, & Tattered Angels shop here.
