Here’s my layout for our December Challenge:

Summer Christmas

In New Zealand, Christmas means summer. BBQ parties, going to the beach, and the best part is the abundance of fresh strawberries to eat. In this layout is my daughter and niece devouring fresh strawberries by the Christmas tree. They sure worked out an appetite after opening all the presents.

Canvas Corp Materials: Journal Lines on Ivory Paper, Candy Canes Paper, All Wrapped Up Reverse Paper, Jolly Christmas Sayings Paper, Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory, Black E-Flute Paper, Mini White Paper Bag, Black Paper Bag, Red Burlap Sheet, Lime Green Burlap Flower, Mini Black ClothespinCanvas Corp Cling Stamp Set

Tattered Angels Materials: Corduroy Pure Mistable Paper, Glimmer Mists (Cross My Heart; Emerald Green, Pearl, It’s Black), Chalk Chalkboard Mist

The Journal Lines on Ivory Paper gives the background a fun twist to the page instead of having it plain white. It also makes for easy journaling on the page.  I then layered the Candy Canes Paper on top of the Journal Lines on Ivory Paper. The look of the white against the Ivory is amazing.

Canvas Corp’s paper bags are perfect for adding fun layers to your creations. Pair it with some E-Flute Paper which come in different colors and you’re good to go.

I’ve die cut the Tattered Angels Corduroy Mistable Paper in different sized circles. I then misted and splattered it with Tattered Angels’ Cross My Heart, Emerald Green, and Pearl Glimmer Mists. I have to say that the Cross My Heart Glimmer Mist is one of the most amazing red mist in the market.

How adorable is the fussy cut present from the All Wrapped Up Reverse Paper, which is sitting nicely amongst the cluster and goes with the jolly photo.  For more splash of color, I misted the same shades of Glimmer Mists to the background, and some splatters of the It’s Black Glimmer Mist for the final touch.

I had fun creating this layout and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.  Check out what the rest of the crew have come up here.

Thanks so much for popping in.  We can’t wait to see your beautiful Christmas entries.  You have until January 5 to link them up here.

Joyeux Noel – An Advent Calendar Banner

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Well hello December…aren’t you getting us all excited for Christmas!  Today I’m sharing an advent calendar that I created with Ruby Rock-It’s gorgeous Joyeux Noel collection, alongside awesome Bella and Fundamentals goodies.

Joyeux Noel Advent CalendarChristine Santos

Ruby Rock-It materials: Joyeux Noel Paper Pad

Bella materials: Glittered Cardstock

Fundamentals materials: Circles Vellum, Doilies

I’ve die cut the Evergreen, Red, White, Gold, Silver, and Raspberry Bella Glittered Cardstocks with my circle die.  I love all these glittery colors, and my favourite would have to be the White Glittered Cardstock…it’s so sweet and sugary looking.

I then layered papers from the Joyeux Noel Paper Pad which I’ve also die cut.  Check out the full collection here.

For the pockets, I’ve used the beautiful Circles Vellum Paper from the Fundamentals range.  In between the layer of vellum are Doilies also from the Fundamentals range.  I like the intricate cuts around these little doilies and they’re so versatile.

For the numbers on the pockets, I’ve dusted off my old Cuttlebug die and cut out some numbers through the White Glittered Cardstock.  I then punched holes on top of each circle and secured them with some jute rope.  Now it’s hanging on top of our fireplace for the kids to enjoy.

It’s easier than ever to add some festive sparkle to Christmas projects with Bella’s range of Glittered Cardstock.  As always, thanks for popping in and I’ll be back soon for another Christmas creation.

Christmas Creations With Scrapmatts + Tattered Angels Paints

Only a few more weeks to go before the big man in red arrives, which means Christmas creating for us crafters.  Speaking of Christmas creations, today I’m sharing a couple of projects which features Scrapmatts chipboards and Stencils combined with Tattered Angels paints and Canvas Corp Burlap Flower and Kraft paper.

Let’s start with an off the page project:

Christmas Printer's Tray

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Printer’s Tray (CB7008), Pine Sprigs (CB1225), Flourishes (CB1003), Twig Frame (CB6086)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Leaf Sprays (ST5004), Stars (ST5039)

Other: Montage Creations Vintage Children at Christmas

Tattered Angels Paints: Ladybug Glimmer Glam, Light Gold High Impact Metallic Paint, Glimmer Mists (Cross My Heart, Barn Red, Pearl, English Ivy, Safari Green), Red Rocks Baseboard Mist

Canvas Corp materials: Lime Green Burlap Flower

I’ve misted the Printer’s Tray chipboard with the Cross My Heart Glimmer Mist first, then given it a good coat of Ladybug Glimmer Glam.  The glitter/sparkle effect of the Glimmer Glam paints are amazing.  Then, I’ve painted the Pine Sprigs with the Safari Green Glimmer Mist with the added glitter, the Twig Frame with English Ivy Glimmer Mist, and the Flourishes with the combination of Barn Red and Pearl Glimmer Mists.

I generously misted a scrap piece of cardboard with the Red Rock Baseboard Mist, then painted a coat of the Ladybug Glimmer Glam on top.  I’ve cut the Lime Green Burlap Flower into a smaller piece then misted some English Ivy and Safari Green Glimmer Mists around it.  The background is finished with a lick of Light Gold High Impact Metallic Paint around the image.

Keeping with the Vintage Christmas Children theme, the next project is a card using my favourite range of Kraft paper:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Star Strings Circles (CB5138), Buckles & Belts (CB1231), Flourishes (CB1003), Twig Frame (CB6086)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Stars (ST5039)

Other: Montage Creations Vintage Children at Christmas

Tattered Angels Paints: Glimmer Mists (Barn Red, Pearl), Red Rocks Baseboard Paint, Chalk Chalkboard Paint

Canvas Corp Materials: Bright White Braided Cotton Rope Cord, Metallic Silver & Kraft Paper

I’ve embossed the Star Strings Circles with Ranger’s Gold embossing powder and inked the Belt chipboard gold.  I’ve framed the image with the same scrap cardboard misted with the Red Rocks Baseboard Mist, but this time without the addition of Glimmer Glam paint.  The Flourishes also has the same application from the Printer’s Tray.

For the Buckle and Twig Frame chipboards, I’ve simply painted them white.  I’ve added a misted layer of Chalkboard Paint on top of the white buckle.  I then cut a small piece of the Bright White Braided Cotton Rope Cord and inserted this into the buckle.  I then frayed the edges for a gorgeous bright white buckled bow to complement the gorgeous image of a young vintage Christmas girl.  It’s finished off with a light misting of Pearl Glimmer Mist for a touch of background shimmer.

These projects certainly got me into the Christmas spirit.  Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my Christmas makes.

Rosibelle Two Ways – A Play On Copper

Hello and happy weekend! I had an awesome time teaching at Scrapaholics for my last class and today I get to share it with you.  It’s two clean layouts with a play on copper from the gorgeous Rosibelle collection by Prima.  All the ladies’ layouts turned out beautifully and we all used different size and amount of photos on each page.

“Wrapped With Love”

Best Friend

This first layout has heaps of copper on it, on the background and accents around the page.  Some of the ladies used a bigger photo and some used more than one photo which turned out brilliant.

Next up is a multi-photo layout.

“Me & You”

Me & You

In this page are little hints of copper to accent the papers and colored photos.  The ladies had fun having  a play and experimenting on which photos to use and add to their layouts.  One of them even created a fun masculine page with four photos from this layout, and the result is amazing.

Now it’s time for me to add the finishing touches to my layout for next month’s class.  Hint: it’ll be very different from my previous classes, and it’s masculine (oooohh!!!).  It’ll go live on the Scrapaholics website next week here.

I’d like to give a huge thank you to all the lovely ladies who attended my classes, I really enjoy having each and every one of you there.  You lot constantly give me the inspiration to create and teach everytime.  So much fun, creating, and catching up to do, eh?  See you at next month’s class.🙂

Unique – Tattered Angels Rock

The Canvas Corp Brands Crew have a formed a group of “Angel Warriors” who love to create and promote Tattered Angels Paints.  We’ve organized an art abandonment project by painting some rocks with Tattered Angels paints.  Create art and leave it for someone to find to brighten their day.

Here’s my Tattered Angels Rock:

Tattered Angels Paints: Navy and Rose Gold High Impact Paints, Glimmer Mists (Dragonfly, Coral Reef, Pearl, Abominable Snowman), Chalk Chalkboard Paint

Canvas Corp materials: Damask Tissuestock, Black Waxed Cotton Cord

I’ve given the rock a good coat of Navy and Rose Gold High Impact paints.  For another layer, the Damask on Ivory Tissuestock is also applied on the rock.  The Black Waxed Cotton Cord is tied in a bow for an added fun touch.

For extra color, shimmer, and depth, the Dragonfly, Coral Reef, Pearl, and Abominable Snowman Glimmer Mists are added on the rock.

To check out what the rest of our angels made, simply click here.  We all had our own unique take on it.

You can join up and show us the rocks you have painted and hidden in your neighborhood.  Don’t forget #tatteredangelsrocks. Simply link it here.

Thanks for dropping in and happy creating.

Something Old, Something New, & Something Blue

Today I’m posting a canvas for a very special couple for their very special celebration.  It is inspired by More Than Words’ November Special and Our Quote Challenge:

A friend asked me if I could create a canvas for her grandparents’ wedding anniversary.  The thought of it got me excited so of course I said yes.  She wants a clean, classic, and timeless look throughout the canvas, mixed with old and new photos.  Here’s a look at the canvas:

“Life Is Good”

Life Is Good

I love how the old photos mix with the new black and white photos, which marks 60 years of the family’s life story.  I was really inspired creating this canvas and I’m really pleased with the result, and so does the whole family.

The very special lady in this photo loves porcelain and blue, so I incorporated a splash of blue against the white canvas to showcase their life story/quote…”Life Is Good”.  This is what the lovely couple always say and pass on to their family, and what a good saying it is.  They’re such an inspiration.

I’ve used Bo Bunny’s Genevieve collection and I love the little pops of yellow with the blue color scheme.  For a little touch of shine, I added some silver foil rub ons from Bo Bunny as well, and a few more touches of silver throughout the canvas.

Because the canvas needs a clean look, I held back from adding splatters and focused on a royal blue background with damask print instead.  A layer of lace is added which is inspired by the beautiful bride’s veil.  When you look closely, the crown on the veil has gorgeous pearls.  Hence the addition of pearls on the canvas.

Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  It was  a pleasure creating for a friend and for a very special family occasion.

And take their word for it…Life Is Good!

Mother, Sister, Aunt – A Photoplay Layout

Today I’m sharing a layout which I’ve done as a class months ago for Scrapaholics.  It’s one of my most taught and popular layout at the shop, and now I finally get to share it with you.

“Mother, Sister, Aunt”

Mother, Sister, Aunt

I’ve used the gorgeous Family Ties collection from Photo Play.  I just love the combination of colors, the chart prints, flowers, and the origami hearts altogether.

In the photo is me, my sister, and my children.  It’s not often we have a photo altogether so of course I scrapped it straight away.

The sticker sheet from the Family Ties collection is just fab…it was hard which ones to choose from to add to the page.

We brought out the good ol’ trusty Martha Stewart Puncher in the class.  Sometimes you forget how good they look like.

I had fun creating this layout and I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Keep an eye out for next month’s classes at Scrapaholics here.  I’ll also be releasing a limited kit so make sure you sign up for the Scrapaholics newsletter to be in the loop.
