Courage – A Little Tribute To A Little Angel

Today I’m sharing something a little extra special for a little man’s tribute.  A group of crafters from around the world have gathered to create ATCs for a friend who’s lost her dearly beloved grandson from an accident.  I can never imagine anything more heartbreaking than losing someone in the family so early in their life.  My deepest sympathies goes to their dear family and I know that he will be happy and at peace in heaven now.  Here’s my heavenly ATC:

Heavenly Angel ATC

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Rounded Corner ATCs (ATC10-008); Flourishes (CB1003); Stars (CB1223); Leaves(CB1115); Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1200)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Borders (ST1010)

For a layer of texture on the ATC, I’ve applied some texture paste through the Borders Stencil.  Then, I’ve applied the same Tattered Angels colors throughout the front and back of both ATCS, achieving heavenly colors for a little boy.

Tattered Angels Materials: Chalkboard Mists (Teal High Heel, Splash, Chalk); Glimmer Mists (Mint Julep, Abominable Snowman)

I’ve used 2 ATCs and punched 2 holes on one side, and tied them with satin ribbons to double this ATC as a card as well.

I’ve added some texture to the leaves chipboard and colored it with the Mint Julep Glimmer Mist.  I then layered this behind the angel’s wings to make the angel pop.  This angel is also lying on the Courage Burnt Cream Scrapword chipboard.

For the fower petals, I’ve misted them with the Splash Chalkboard Mist and Abominable Snowman Glimmer Mist.  Once dry, I then painted the edges with the Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist.  For the Flourishes and Stars chipboards, I’ve simply painted them white, then misted them with the Chalk Chalkboard Mist for a hint of glimmer.  I’ve positioned the petals and flourishes upwards on top of the angel to represent the clouds going up to heaven.  Here’s one last look at the ATC card:

That’s it for my little tribute for a special little man.  There will be an in depth post about the memorial project, so keep your eyes peeled on that.

Love Forever – A Sweet Bella Layout

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a Bella layout from my mood board of things that I love, what makes me happy, inspires me, and are most important to me.

The main star of my mood board is my children.  They never fail to make my heart smile, and they always inspire me to create fun and happy layouts that fill my scrapbook albums.  I also like to incorporate different colors and flowers to anything I create.  Here’s my layout inspired by my mood board, filled with Bella’s new True Romantic collection:

Love ForeverChristine Santos

True Romantic Papers: Love, Bouquet, Garland, Whit

Bella’s True Romantic collection is beautiful to work with…bouquet of flowers, pretty watercolors, hearts and prints.  Have a look at the whole paper range:

For the marquee alpha letters, I’ve cut them out from the gorgeous I Do Paper from the Raw & Rustic collection.  This paper is a must have, and here’s a quick look:

REV 25 days of christmas Catalogue

Other Bella Materials: Bling Swirls, Florals, Fabric Trims

I’ve cut out the outlines of the adorable pink hearts of the Love paper and the gorgeous flowers of the Garland paper as layers behind the photo.  Joining these papers is a strip of the wooden print of the same Garland paper.

014I’ve used two sheets of the Whit paper so I can use both pretty prints.  The soft purple watercolor shades with gentle touches of splatters makes the perfect background for this sweet page.  Complementing the purple shades and softness, some purple Bella Trims are added, and some white and purple Bella Florals.

For more movement, I’ve die cut some swirls and leaves from the Love and Whit papers.  Last but definitely not the least is the addition of Bella’s Bling Swirls.

It was fun creating this page with the True Romantic papers, inspired by a mood board that inspires and makes me happy.  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  I’ll be back soon for another stunning new Bella collection.

Daddy’s Little Helpers

Hello hello! We’re halfway through September already and spring has definitely sprung in our side of the world.  I’m talking four seasons in one day.  Today I’m sharing a layout with Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils.  It features a photo of my girls helping daddy out with the firewood.

Daddy's Little Helpers

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Page Borders (CB2003); Twig Frame (CB6086); Grass (CB5099); Cats (CB1014); Black Scrap Words (CB1197)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Triangles (ST5033); Leaf Sprays (ST5004)

As usual, I’ve used a mix of Tattered Angels Paints: Cowboy Glimmer Glaze; Monolith and Mantis Chalkboard Mists; Glimmer Mists (Tattered Leather; Graphite; English Ivy)

I’ve applied some modeling paste through the Triangles Stencil and added a splash of English Ivy Glimmer Mist.  I’ve also used this mist to color the burlap leaves and the stenciled Leaf Sprays.  I’ve shaded the gorgeous Grass chipboards with the Mantis Chalkboard Mist.

How adorable is the Cat chipboard?  I’ve shaded this chipboard with the Monolith Chalkboard Mist first, then the Graphite Glimmer Mist on top.  For the top background, I’ve generously applied the Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist while watering some areas down.

For the Twig Frame chipboard, I’ve brushed the Cowboy Glimmer Glaze on the branch frame.  Once this is dry, I then applied the English Ivy Glimmer Mist on the leaves of the frame.  And for the gorgeous Page Border chipboards, I’ve simply roughly inked them with a couple of Versa Inkpads.  Lastly, I added a couple of Black Scrap Words for the title.

I was super inspired scrapping this photo and I had fun creating this page.  Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  I’ll be back soon with another Scrapmatts and Tattered Angels projects to show you, so stay tuned.  Enjoy your weekend!

New York Love

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Today marks the first day of Spring in New Zealand, and it’s so nice to have the sunshine getting warmer.  For this month Bella is launching their new wedding collections, and today I’m sharing with you a project featuring the gorgeous New York Wedding Collection:

I’m instantly drawn to the beautiful blues, silver and black, and the different prints of the New York collection.  Here’s my LOVE monogram:

Love MonogramChristine Santos

New York Papers: Dotti; Lace; Flourish; Sweethearts

Bella Bling: Black Hearts; Silver Vintage Pearl Swirls; Black Floral Strip

I’ve whitewashed the edges of the letters with a layer of white paint, then a thin layer of watered down silver paint to go with the whitewash effect.

I then adhered different New York papers on the front of the letters.  Once the adhesive is dry, cut out the edges with a sharp craft knife on a large craft mat.  This is a great way of showcasing the different colors and prints of the New York collection.  Do you know that all Bella Wedding papers have a divine smooth texture and feel to it?  This is what makes Bella Wedding different to other 12×12 papers in the market.

Next up, I inked the edges of the letters with my bright aqua blue inkpad.  It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add a touch of bright color to this project.  Keeping with the pops of bright aqua, I then shaded some white flowers from my stash and adhered these to the letters “O” and “E”.

I then cut out a couple of hearts from the Sweethearts paper.  I adhered these hearts to the letter “L”, slightly folding it in half for a 3D effect.  For some sparkle, I added some gorgeous Bella Bling on the letters “L”, “O”, and “E”.  Here’s one last look at the LOVE monogram:

I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Thanks for dropping by and do check out more Bella here.  I’ll be back soon for another beautiful Bella Wedding collection.

Black & Gold – A 7Gypsies Postcard

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a postcard I’ve sent to a fellow Canvas Corp Brands creative crew member, using the gorgeous Wanderlust and American Vintage papers from 7 Gypsies.

A postcard is also called a picture postcard.  It is a small, commercially printed card, usually having a picture on one side and space for a short message on the other.  It is flat and is usually sent without an envelope.

The postcard I created is not exactly a traditional postcard, which is why I love the result even more.  Have a look and let me know what you think:

7 Gypsies Postcard

7 Gypsies Materials: Open New Doors Paper (Wanderlust Collection); Wish You Were Here Paper (American Vintage Collection); Antique Brass Mini Hanger; Antique Gold Key; Black Lace Trimming

Tattered Angels Materials: Black High Impact Paint; Gold Glimmer Mist

Canvas Corp Materials: Natural Hank Rope; Natural Jute Rope

I trimmed one postcard section of the Wish You Were Here paper for the base of my postcard.  I then unevenly painted it with the Black High Impact Paint while watering down some parts for a more fluid look.  Once dry, I then misted some delicious Gold Glimmer Mist on top of the paint.  I always find myself using this glimmer mist and the coverage is incomparable to other mists in the market.

The upper paper layers are from the Open New Doors paper, and in between is the beautiful black lace trimming.  Here’s a quick look at the Open New Doors paper from 7 Gypsies’ Wanderlust collection:

For some texture and fun touches, I’ve added the Antique Brass Metal Hanger, Antique Gold Key, Natural Hank and Jute Ropes, and some more Gold Glimmer Mist.  Here’s one last closer look at the postcard:

Last but not the least, I’d like to say a very big thank you to Jorunn Langas for the gorgeous postcard.  I love all the frames and beautiful colors and messages🙂.

Thanks for dropping in.  Check out what some of the creative crew have come up here.
