Family, Like Fudge

Hello everyone.  I hope all moms have been spoilt on Mother’s Day.  I love celebrating our day as moms…every year hubby with the help of my little girls cook me pancakes for breakfast.  It is then served with a vase of fresh roses on the table.  Makes me feel so blessed to be a mommy.

Speaking of moms, I created a birthday card for a special great grandmom.  She loves a bit of humor so I added a funny sentiment in front of her card.  I’ve used Bella’s gorgeous Family Mini Theme collection, along with some beautiful Bella Bling.

“Family, Like Fudge”

Bella materials: Family Mini Theme Papers (Family Time, Love This, Together); Family 3D Sticker; Family Die Cut Pack, Bella Bling (Black Borderlines, Black Flourish)

Check out the full range of Family Mini Theme collection HERE.

I’ve used the Family Time paper for the base of the card.  I then trimmed some strips and frames from the opposite side of the same paper and layered them on top.

I then cut out the sentiment from the Together paper and layered it on top of the card.  The hint of chalkboard makes the message stand out on the card.

For a small accent beside the sentiment, I simply added some pieces from the Family 3D Sticker Sheet and Die Cut Pack, along with some cut out flowers and butterflies from the Together paper.

Saving the best for last, some Black Borderlines Bling and Flourish Bling are added for the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed looking through my feminine card, with a touch of humor and bling!

Cheers,

Using Canvas Corps and 7 Gypsies latest products along with an abundance of embellies makes for this dimensional layout/wall hanging. Better Together – Pretty In Pink

Spring is in full bloom in the Northern Hemisphere and this has inspired me to create a layout filled with Pink Bella Florals.  I paired these pretties with the New York paper collection.  Here’s my pretty in pink page:

“Better Together”

Bella materials: New York Papers (Flourish, Together, Sweethearts); Pink Florals; Black Corrugated Cardstock; Black Heart Stickers

The cute little white hearts and alpha title came from the White and Black Fundamentals Alphabet Sticker Sheet Set.

I’ve cut out some gorgeous hearts from the Sweetheart Paper.  The hardest part was choosing which hearts to add to the layout.

Behind the photo are layers of Bella’s Black Corrugated Paper and Together Paper.

The photo is nested with a layer of pretty pink Bella Florals.

Some Black Bella Heart Stickers are then added throughout the page for extra touches of hearts.

I really love this photo of my girls.  Check out my little one’s biscuit, while she nibbles on it in a cute little basket.  Her older sister thinks it’s so funny, her face and pose says it all! They really are better together.

Thanks for popping and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  It sure was fun creating this page.  For more Bella and Fundamentals, click here.

Autumn Escape 2017 – Disney Magic

This year’s Atumn Escape has been a blast…the amazing team and tutors have worked together to bring Disney magic and an array of classes to life at Taupo’s gorgeous Wairakei Resort.  Here are just some of the highlights of this fantastic retreat.

Welcome to New Zealand’s Autumn Escape 2017! There’s my lovely room mate, Sarah welcoming us.  She is a pro at setting up shop and she’s been really missed at the Scrapaholics shop.

Setting up inside the conference room which has been transformed into a massive crop room.  All the registered ladies can craft/scrapbook to their heart’s content on their assigned Disney table throughout the weekend.

Each table have different Disney characters, which have each been lovingly created from the team.

Each attendee gets an awesome welcome goodie pack.

There’s a Mickey Mouse candy bar especially for our attendees for extra sustenance.

We were at the shop to help you out with your crafting needs.  Tinkerbell was looking out after us too. 🙂

We also sold kits from our lovely tutors.  Check out the team’s fun Mickey Mouse ears, straight out from Disneyland.

Me and Jodi (Jodi is the maestro behind the event…bless her) took turns in teaching make and take cards to add to the card compendium that each attendees got at the last day of the retreat.  A little thank you gesture from the team for being part of the event.

The breakfast buffet was a hit during the entire weekend.

Myself and the lovely Sheree from the team assisted and helped Aida Domisiewicz on kitting and setting up before, during, and after each class.

Each tutors taught at least three different classes, and each tutors have their own designated helpers throughout the event.

Aida is one of the loveliest person I’ve ever met.  Hopefully I get to catch up with her again some time.  I adore her work and array of 13Arts products.

First of Aida’s class done and dusted.

All smiles after a great set of classes with great turn out.  The ladies have enjoyed learning Aida’s techniques and playing with her media products and paper collections.

Saturday night we had heaps of fun in the crop room with games.  First game was Mickey on a plate.  We all had a good laugh as the ladies drew Mickey on the plate on top of their heads, and prettied them up with anything from their rubbish bags only.  The best Mickey on a plate table won an amazing goodie bag.  Well done ladies!

Then we played what’s in your tote bag.  The ladies were given a list to tick what’s in their tote bag, and then they have to write what is the strangest thing in their bag.  The top three ladies with the most ticks and strangest things received some awesome prizes.

Throughout the event we drew prizes.  In this photo the lovely Gerry Van Gent is drawing a lucky winner, alongside Trina McClune who hosted the retreat.

Gerry Van Gent has a lovely clean and floral style, and designs for 49 & Market.  She came here with her hubby which is great, as Jodi’s other half was there really helping out as well.  It was nice having a couple of gentlemen around the event.

The fantastic tutors were given a special remembrance gift each, which is a cool Kiwiana tablecloth.

Natalie May, our third tutor took the group’s 110 people selfie.  She sure is a pro and knows lots of tips in taking selfies.

Natalie May has a cool grungy style with touches of mixed media.  She’s a full time Aussie papercraft instructor with a lot of sass.  She also designs for Lindy’s Stamp Gang.

All attendees can enter the event’s Red, Black, and White layout competition.  There were heaps of fantastic entries and the tutors judged the best layout.  The lovely winner won the grand prize of Autumn Escape, which is a Pandora Bracelet with three gorgeous Disney beads included.  Congratulations and very well deserved!

Some fun photo booth pictures of the Autumn Escape 2017 team.

Last but not the least, the Autumn Escape tradition of taking photos of the whole group outside the hotel.

By the water fountain with the tutors Aida, Gerry, and Natalie.  And the brains and machine behind it all, the amazing Jodi Tomlin.  This would not have been possible without you! Michelle have been Jodi’s main sidekick in helping organize the event.  And of course here you’ll see all the tutor’s assistants Denise, Antoinetta, Sheree, and myself.

Thank you each and everyone for making this the best Autumn Escape yet!!!  Registration’s already open for Atumn Escape 2018 at the Scrapaholics website HERE.   Yet again, the line up tutors are fantastic.  We’re already working on year 2018’s theme and we can’t wait to make it another fun and memorable Autumn Escape.

Next up, SENZ – New Zealand’s largest Scrapbooking and Paper Crafting Expo.  Tickets/passes are on sale now.  All classes will go live for VIP Pass Holders on May 9 at the SENZ website.  I’ll be teaching a 2 hour class and a 3 hour class and I’m really excited to share my ideas with you.

Majority of the high quality photos courtesy of Sherre Depree.  She’s our lovely photographer for the whole weekend, capturing all the Autumn Escape memories.

And that’s a wrap for Autumn Escape 2017!

Cheers,

Flight of Fancy Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone.  How was your long Easter weekend? Today I’m excited to share with you a colorful canvas featuring a mix of Bella Florals and Bling, with a mixed media twist.  See if you can spot all of them:

“Flight Of Fancy”

Bella materials: White Bella Florals, Floral Bling, Accent Flourish Bling, Spiral Flourish Bling, Silver Glitter Paper, Green Glitter Paper

Fundamentals materials: Birds Decoupage Set

Ruby Rock-It materials: Purple Glitter

I’ve used a hexagon canvas as the base of this project.  I then layered my mediums on top, adding different colors around the canvas.

I then layered some super gorgeous Bella Bling around the Fundamentals Bird Papertole.  The new Bling designs are divine and I just can’t get enough adding these beauties on my creations.

I punched some shapes from a couple of Bella Glittered Cardstock and surrounded them on the canvas.

For added glitz, I sprinkled some Purple Ruby Rock-It Glitter to match the color of the canvas.  Some splatters are added throughout for the final finishing touch.

So there’s my canvas.  I had a blast creating it and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Check out the Ruby Rock-It shop HERE, you’ll find all the supplies you’ll need for all types of paper craft and beading.

Thanks for popping in.

Cheers,

Imagine – ATC Hanging Wall Art

Happy Easter to you!  It’s nice to be creating and blogging again after a very busy start to the month.  We have a new April “Feathers” Challenge up at the Creative Studio for Canvas Corp Brands:

The How To:

Use Feathers as your inspiration when you create. You can also incorporate items or colors from the moodboard. Create, decorate, sew, knit or paint – release your imagination and be creative!

This month we have a different prize – we will invite the winner of the challenge to be our Guest Designer in June. This means that you will get a box filled with goodies from all 3 Canvas Corp Brands to play with!

To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool HERE. You have until the end of May 5 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered.

Here’s my April “Feathers” project:

“Imagine” ATC Hanging Wall Art

Canvas Corp Brands Materials:

Tattered Angels:
Navy High Impact Paint
Chalkboard Mists: Grape Ape, Black Orchid, Splash, Chalk
Glimmer Mists: Sapphire, Night B4 Christmas, Dragonfly, Periwinkle Bouquet, Abominable Snowman, Pearl, Crushed Shells, Gold

Canvas Corp:
Denim Fabric Sheet
Teal Burlap Flower
Dark Blue Burlap Sheet
Sisal Rope
Natural Hank Cord Rope
Cream Hank Braided Rope
Chocolate & Ivory Feathers Reverse 12×12 Paper

7 Gypsies: Lace Trimmings

I was inspired by the whole mood board…the gorgeous deep shades of blue and purple, the feathers, and the dream catcher.

I thought what a great idea it would be to transform an ATC into a hanging wall art inspired by the concept of dream catchers.

I’ve also used a couple of gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards and stencil for this project:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: ATC10-008 Rounded Corners 01, CB1028 Butterflies 18, CB1238 Scrap Words 24

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5033 Stencil Triangles

I really wanted to add layers and layers of color and texture throughout this hanging ATC wall art.  If you look closely you’ll see crackle here and there, dimensional butterflies against the stenciled triangles immersed in Tattered Angels paints.  I really love every single nook and cranny of this project.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join our awesome April “Feathers” Challenge.  Simply link up your entry HERE.  There’s an amazing prize pack and guest design spot up for grabs.  We can’t wait to see all your beautiful creations.  You’ve got 20 days to enter so get creating.

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Cheers,
