True Blue Mixed Media Card

We’ve been having lots of birthdays within the family and with friends, and I’ve been busy creating some birthday cards.  Today’s quick share is a fun and easy mixed media card that I created for The Creative Studio.

Celebrate & Wish – Birthday Card

Hi there, how’s it going? It’s time for another Scrapmatts post and today I’m sharing a bright birthday card for a fun and energetic little birthday girl.

“Celebrate & Wish”

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Nested Stars (CB5021), String Circles (CB5138), Black Silhouettes (CB1195), Assorted Words (CB6116), Sticks (CB5153), Burnt Cream Scrap Words (CB1238)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Circles (ST5006)

I’ve used a Fundamentals Buttercup Cardstock for my card base and applied some black texture paste through the Circles stencil.  I then embossed the star chipboard and layered this on top of the Bo Bunny Calendar Girl Paper with the cute emoji prints on top, this is then layered on top of the card.

Celebrate Birthday Card

For the top chipboard layers, I’ve painted the sticks white, the stars strings with Tattered Angels Yellow Glimmer Glam, and the wish word with Dylusions paint with traced edges topped with glossy accents.  I also added some glitter on top of the black balloon, because glitter dipped balloons are delightful🙂.  It’s all finished off with some flowers and it’s ready for the bubbly and cheery birthday girl.

Thanks for popping in and don’t forget to check out more Scrapmatts goodies here.

A Life Changing Day

It’s soooo good to be scrapping again after a very busy month.  I don’t feel quite like myself whenever I miss out on getting creative from periods of time.  So yesterday I’ve fixed this problem (woohoo!) and now I get to share with you the layout I made with Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils, papers and burlap from Canvas Corp’s Heirloom Mix & Match Pad, and Tattered Angels mistable paper and paints.

It is also inspired by More Than Words’ October “Change” and “Ombre” Challenge:

Hands down blue is my ultimate favourite color, so I incorporated variegating shades of blue in my page.  The word “Change” is in the title of my layout.  The birth of my first daughter definitely changed my life forever, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“A Life Changing Day”

A Life Changing Day

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Diamond Mesh (CB5127), Assorted Words (CB6115), Gears (CB1073), Butterflies (CB1045), Black Scrap Words (CB1197)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Squares (ST1038), Borders (ST1010), Cobblestones (5014)

Heirloom Papers and Burlap: Birth Certificate Cards on Ivory, Cameras on Ivory, Pen & Ink on Ivory, White C-Flute Paper, Dark Blue Burlap Sheet

Tattered Angels Materials: Brushed Cotton Mistable Paper, Navy High Impact Paint, Glimmer Mists (Sapphire; Abominable Snowman), Chalkboard Mists (Splash; Chalk; Teal High Heel), Topaz Baseboard Mist

I added and blended all the different Tattered Angels paints mentioned above for my background, except for the Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist.  I have used this lovely bright Chalkboard Mist to watercolor my traced, stenciled letters.

The chipboards have been painted with gesso, then misted with the Chalk Chalkboard Mist, except for the “life” Scrap Word which I’ve shaded and painted with the Topaz Baseboard Mist for an ombre effect.

I’m not big on scrapping photos with myself on it, but this particular picture is very special and close to my heart and deserves a special page.  I was very inspired while creating it, and perhaps going days without creating fueled it.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  For more Scrapmatts click here, and for more Canvas Corp and Tattered Angels click here.

Happy Girls Are The Prettiest

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Good day! Spring has definitely sprung in our part of the world and this has inspired me to create a happy layout with lots of Bella Florals.  I’ve used the beautiful new Raw & Rustic collection from Bella:

Spring makes me happy and this layout definitely makes me happy!

“Happy Girls Are The Prettiest”

Happy Girls Are The PrettiestChristine Santos

Raw and Rustic Papers: Table Toppers, Timberland, I Do, Valentine

Other Bella/Ruby Rock-It/Fundamentals materials: Bella Florals, Champagne Bubbles Stamp, Bella Bling and Pearl Swirls, Bella Fireworks Bling, Bella Floral Bling Strip, Bella Fabric Trims, Kraft Specialty Corrugated Cardboard Paper, Alpha Wood Veneers

I couldn’t decide whether to use the gorgeous floral prints of the Table Topper (top half) paper or the awesome brick texture print of the Valentine (bottom half) paper for this page, so I used them both…I’m really glad I did! The Pink Bella Fabric Trims ties in the 2 papers together.

I’ve layered a bouquet of Gold and Silver Bella Florals around the photo, surrounded with a variety of layered Bella Swirls and Blings.  In this case, you can never have too many Florals, Swirls, and Bling!

I just love Bella’s new Champagne Bubbles Stamp.  I’ve stamped this around the background, adding some liquid pearls to a couple of stamped bubbles.  The paper layers behind the photo is a slightly distressed piece of Timberland paper and Kraft Corrugated Paper.

Last but not the least is the fussy cut alphas for the Happy title which came from the I Do paper.  I’ve layered this across the photo, keeping with the fun look and feel of the page.  Who knew the Raw and Rustic collection could be so much fun?

I hope you enjoyed my Spring inspired layout today.  Check out the beautiful Raw and Rustic collection at your nearest Spotlight store or LSS.

Courage – A Little Tribute To A Little Angel

Today I’m sharing something a little extra special for a little man’s tribute.  A group of crafters from around the world have gathered to create ATCs for a friend who’s lost her dearly beloved grandson from an accident.  We call it “The Little Man Memorial Project”.

I can never imagine anything more heartbreaking than losing someone in the family so early in their life.  My deepest sympathies goes to their dear family and I know that he will be happy and at peace in heaven now.  Here’s my heavenly ATC:

Heavenly Angel ATC

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Rounded Corner ATCs (ATC10-008); Flourishes (CB1003); Stars (CB1223); Leaves(CB1115); Burnt Cream Scrapwords (CB1200)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Borders (ST1010)

For a layer of texture on the ATC, I’ve applied some texture paste through the Borders Stencil.  Then, I’ve applied the same Tattered Angels colors throughout the front and back of both ATCS, achieving heavenly colors for a little boy.

Tattered Angels Materials: Chalkboard Mists (Teal High Heel, Splash, Chalk); Glimmer Mists (Mint Julep, Abominable Snowman)

I’ve used 2 ATCs and punched 2 holes on one side, and tied them with satin ribbons to double this ATC as a card as well.

I’ve added some texture to the leaves chipboard and colored it with the Mint Julep Glimmer Mist.  I then layered this behind the angel’s wings to make the angel pop.  This angel is also lying on the Courage Burnt Cream Scrapword chipboard.

For the fower petals, I’ve misted them with the Splash Chalkboard Mist and Abominable Snowman Glimmer Mist.  Once dry, I then painted the edges with the Teal High Heel Chalkboard Mist.  For the Flourishes and Stars chipboards, I’ve simply painted them white, then misted them with the Chalk Chalkboard Mist for a hint of glimmer.  I’ve positioned the petals and flourishes upwards on top of the angel to represent the clouds going up to heaven.  Here’s one last look at the ATC card:

Love Forever – A Sweet Bella Layout

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a Bella layout from my mood board of things that I love, what makes me happy, inspires me, and are most important to me.

The main star of my mood board is my children.  They never fail to make my heart smile, and they always inspire me to create fun and happy layouts that fill my scrapbook albums.  I also like to incorporate different colors and flowers to anything I create.  Here’s my layout inspired by my mood board, filled with Bella’s new True Romantic collection:

Love ForeverChristine Santos

True Romantic Papers: Love, Bouquet, Garland, Whit

Bella’s True Romantic collection is beautiful to work with…bouquet of flowers, pretty watercolors, hearts and prints.  Have a look at the whole paper range:

For the marquee alpha letters, I’ve cut them out from the gorgeous I Do Paper from the Raw & Rustic collection.  This paper is a must have, and here’s a quick look:

REV 25 days of christmas Catalogue

Other Bella Materials: Bling Swirls, Florals, Fabric Trims

I’ve cut out the outlines of the adorable pink hearts of the Love paper and the gorgeous flowers of the Garland paper as layers behind the photo.  Joining these papers is a strip of the wooden print of the same Garland paper.

014I’ve used two sheets of the Whit paper so I can use both pretty prints.  The soft purple watercolor shades with gentle touches of splatters makes the perfect background for this sweet page.  Complementing the purple shades and softness, some purple Bella Trims are added, and some white and purple Bella Florals.

For more movement, I’ve die cut some swirls and leaves from the Love and Whit papers.  Last but definitely not the least is the addition of Bella’s Bling Swirls.

It was fun creating this page with the True Romantic papers, inspired by a mood board that inspires and makes me happy.  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  I’ll be back soon for another stunning new Bella collection.
