To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool HERE. You have until the end of May 5 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered.

Here’s my April “Feathers” project:

“Imagine” ATC Hanging Wall Art

Canvas Corp Brands Materials:

Tattered Angels:
Navy High Impact Paint
Chalkboard Mists: Grape Ape, Black Orchid, Splash, Chalk
Glimmer Mists: Sapphire, Night B4 Christmas, Dragonfly, Periwinkle Bouquet, Abominable Snowman, Pearl, Crushed Shells, Gold

Canvas Corp:
Denim Fabric Sheet
Teal Burlap Flower
Dark Blue Burlap Sheet
Sisal Rope
Natural Hank Cord Rope
Cream Hank Braided Rope
Chocolate & Ivory Feathers Reverse 12×12 Paper

7 Gypsies: Lace Trimmings

I was inspired by the whole mood board…the gorgeous deep shades of blue and purple, the feathers, and the dream catcher.

I thought what a great idea it would be to transform an ATC into a hanging wall art inspired by the concept of dream catchers.

I’ve also used a couple of gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards and stencil for this project:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: ATC10-008 Rounded Corners 01, CB1028 Butterflies 18, CB1238 Scrap Words 24

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5033 Stencil Triangles

I really wanted to add layers and layers of color and texture throughout this hanging ATC wall art.  If you look closely you’ll see crackle here and there, dimensional butterflies against the stenciled triangles immersed in Tattered Angels paints.  I really love every single nook and cranny of this project.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join our awesome April “Feathers” Challenge.  Simply link up your entry HERE.  There’s an amazing prize pack and guest design spot up for grabs.  We can’t wait to see all your beautiful creations.  You’ve got 20 days to enter so get creating.

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Cheers,

My word for year 2017 is GROW – grow my family, grow myself, grow my job, grow my craft, grow my savings, grow my friendships, grow better everyday.

0211

I used some gorgeous images from the Watering Can and Spring Showers collections, with Canvas Corp products to match.

I’ve added the Ivory Burlap Flower on the right side of the rope and then layered a butterfly from the Spring Showers Printed Canvas Sheet on top.

0242

Some strips from the Natural Canvas Sheet are cut out and tied on the spool.   I then punched a couple of holes on the middle of the bird (from the Watering Can paper) and run the canvas from the left side through it.

Black & Gold – A 7Gypsies Postcard

Hi there.  Today I’m sharing a postcard I’ve sent to a fellow Canvas Corp Brands creative crew member, using the gorgeous Wanderlust and American Vintage papers from 7 Gypsies.

A postcard is also called a picture postcard.  It is a small, commercially printed card, usually having a picture on one side and space for a short message on the other.  It is flat and is usually sent without an envelope.

The postcard I created is not exactly a traditional postcard, which is why I love the result even more.  Have a look and let me know what you think:

7 Gypsies Postcard

7 Gypsies Materials: Open New Doors Paper (Wanderlust Collection); Wish You Were Here Paper (American Vintage Collection); Antique Brass Mini Hanger; Antique Gold Key; Black Lace Trimming

Tattered Angels Materials: Black High Impact Paint; Gold Glimmer Mist

Canvas Corp Materials: Natural Hank Rope; Natural Jute Rope

IMG_9697

I trimmed one postcard section of the Wish You Were Here paper for the base of my postcard.  I then unevenly painted it with the Black High Impact Paint while watering down some parts for a more fluid look.  Once dry, I then misted some delicious Gold Glimmer Mist on top of the paint.  I always find myself using this glimmer mist and the coverage is incomparable to other mists in the market.

The upper paper layers are from the Open New Doors paper, and in between is the beautiful black lace trimming.  Here’s a quick look at the Open New Doors paper from 7 Gypsies’ Wanderlust collection:

For some texture and fun touches, I’ve added the Antique Brass Metal Hanger, Antique Gold Key, Natural Hank and Jute Ropes, and some more Gold Glimmer Mist.  Here’s one last closer look at the postcard:

Last but not the least, I’d like to say a very big thank you to Jorunn Langas for the gorgeous postcard.  I love all the frames and beautiful colors and messages :).

Thanks for dropping in.  Check out what some of the creative crew have come up here.

Zoom – A Fun Layout For Scrapmatts & CSI

Hi there.  I’ve been busy creating with some yummy Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils, & this month we’re guest designing for CSI – Colors, Stories & Inspirations.  I’ve also thoughtfully incorporated some delish Canvas Corp Brands goodies in my page for perfect measure.  I got to work with 2 different CSI case files & today I get to share with you the first one:

june10

For Case File #203, my 3 evidences are dots, clouds & string.  I’ve used all the shades of the color palette & my testimony is the inspiration word “zoom”.  Here’s how I solved the case:

“Zoom”

Zoom

Scrapmatts chipboards: Bubbles (CB5131); Circles (CB5152); Assorted Words (CB6106); Scrap Words (CB1238)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Clouds (ST1030)

I’ve appropriately titled this layout zoom as my youngest daughter literally zooms her way around with her balance bike…no fear whatsoever!  Red for her energy, circles for the bike wheels, & more colors for her fun loving personality.  This page embodies her & her balance bike to a tee.

IMG_9529

I’m in love with the new circles chipboard.  Sofie & Andrew are doing a fantastic job creating new chipboard & stencil designs.  I’ve embossed it in different colors to match the green & cantaloupe colors of the case.

IMG_9531

How adorable are the clouds? Thanks to the clouds stencil it’s easy to add them to your backgrounds.  The cream color on the scrap words chipboards are lovely & these are great for filling up little spaces in your projects.  The papers I’ve used here are Canvas Corp’s Red & Kraft Mini Dot Reverse Paper & 7 Gypsies Wish You Were Here Paper from the American Vintage collection.

IMG_9530

I’ve used a couple of assorted words chipboards, some painted & some embossed.  I’ve also used the off cut to mat the photos…nothing must go to waste.  For the color splashes throughout the page I’ve used Tattered Angels Splash Chalkboard Mist, Teal High Heal Chalkboard Mist & Cross My Heart Glimmer Mist.

IMG_9534

I’ve painted the bubbles chipboard in multi color to match the blue, green & yellow shades of the palette using the following Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Marigold, Pumpkin Spice, & Chalkboard Mists: Mantis, & Splash.  I love how these bubbles chipboards have dots in them.

That was a fun case solved & thanks for looking.  I’ll be back soon for another Scrapmatts layout in collaboration with a new CSI Case File.  Do check out CSI’s Case File#203 here, among other fun case files to solve.  You can win some of these amazing Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils if you join in (they are one of the major sponsor for this year).  So get creating & load your entry to the CSI website for a chance to win an amazing Scrapmatts prize pack!

An American Vintage Clock For Dad

Hi there, how are you today? As for me, I wish I was at CHA right now.  Just imagine all the crafty goodness all in one place.  One day I’ll have to make a trip there, for sure.

My hubby is celebrating his birthday soon so this got me thinking of what I could create for him.  I have a dad word wooden clock & I thought this would be perfect for his office.  I wanted to create something masculine without having to use blue as a predominant color.  Hence why I layered the clock with papers from the awesome American Vintage collection by 7 Gypsies:

IMG_7802

The base/background is the Across USA paper, & the dad word is adhered with the State Plates paper.  The edges have been inked with a brown inkpad.

IMG_7803

I sure had fun building the cluster at the left side of the clock.  It consists of the following 7 Gypsies goodness: Road Trip Book Knob, Antique Brass Metal Label Holder, & Correspondence Mini Ephemeras.  The cog chipboards are given coats of the following Tattered Angels paints: Cowboy Glimmer Glaze, Graphite Glimmer Mist, & Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist.

IMG_7815

Texture has been added by stamping with the same brown inkpad & Canvas Corp’s Be Beautiful Cling Stamp set, among other stamps from my stash.

IMG_7813

The cluster is finished off with a strand of Natural Jute Rope that is lightly stained with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist.  Last but not the least is my favourite step, which is adding splatters of Gold Glimmer Mist on the clock.

I’m really pleased on how it turned out.  I always enjoy creating masculine projects, & I’ll have to make a point of doing more of it this year.  I hope you enjoyed my post today, & thanks heaps for dropping in.  Do check out the Canvas Corp shop here.  Until then.

Cheers,

Merry Merry Christmas

I wish you a very merry Christmas & a blessed New Year ahead! Thank you for following my crafty journey, your lovely comments & your visits.  It really means a lot to me & I can’t wait to share more creations with you & some exciting news for next year.

I’d also like to post a few Christmas projects today for Canvas Corp.  I had such a great year with their crew & I’m so happy to be on their creative team again for another year.  Let’s start with a couple of projects featuring the Farmhouse Christmas collection.

“Farmhouse Christmas Banner”

074

Next is a clean, kraft Christmas layout with step by step instructions.  I love the variety of Canvas Corp’s beautiful kraft papers, & the new Farmhouse Christmas collection is an absolute must have.  All the kraft papers mix & match well whatever the range.  I went kraft all the way with this page, making the jolly photo pop. Make sure to read all the steps to find out my new found kraft tip.

“Have A Holly Jolly Christmas”

Holly Jolly Christmas

Materials :

Farmhouse Christmas collection: Red & Black Diamonds on Kraft; Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft; Snowflakes Reverse on Kraft; Better Not Pout Tags on Kraft; Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory

Other Canvas Corp Materials: C Flute Kraft; White & Kraft Chevron Paper; Jolly Christmas Sayings Paper; Red Hemp Rope; Chocolate Burlap Fringe; Ivory Burlap Fringe

Additional Materials: paper flowers & leaves; pine needles; chipboard; glossy accents

008

Directions:

Step 1

Cut out an “uneven” geometric triangular shape, outling the stitching of the Red & Black Diamonds on Kraft paper. You can distress the edges if desired. Adhere well on top of the C Flute Kraft, not forgetting to sneak in a strip of Chocolate Burlap Fringe under the left slant of the diamond kraft paper.

Step 2

Trim 4.25″x4″ of the White & Kraft Chevron paper & layer this under a 3 3/4″x4 3/4″ Christmas photo. Adhere this to the top right of the page, letting only parts of diamonds peek under the photo. Fussy cut the Santa on a sliegh image from the Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft paper & adhere this beside the photo.

Step 3

Now it’s time to build our cluster under the sleigh. Adhere some pine needles first, then layer some mini red paper flowers & white paper leaves near the photo.

Step 4

Fussy cut a big snowflake from the Snowflakes Reverse on Kraft paper & tie a couple of layered ribbons from the Red Hemp Rope. Layer these pieces on top of the cluster, & then top one last piece of small black paper flower.

Step 5

Cut a small strip of Ivory Burlap Fringe in half & curl it. Adhere this in between the leaves & flowers to finish your cluster.

005

Step 6

To balance the page, add the title at the bottom left. Cut out the Christmas word from the Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft paper & give the letters a good coat of glossy accents. Enameled kraft looks so good, you have to see it for yourself! Layer a round white chipboard, a black circle with snowflake print cut out from the Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory paper, Holly Jolly Christmas cut out from the Jolly Christmas Sayings paper & the enameled kraft Christmas word to finish it all off.

Next up is the bright & cheerful Jolly Christmas collection, starting off with a fun Christmas card.  The inspiration behind this festive card is Mickey Mouse.

007

Looking at this card puts a smile on face every time.  Last but not the least is a “cheeky” Christmas layout:

“Don’t Get Your Tinsel In A Tangle”

Cheeky, Naughty, Nice

Color the baubles with some Tattered Angels paints & mists for pops of color, glitter & glimmer.

022

Cut out some chevrons from the chevron paper. Layer them on your layout then add your journaling on them.  You can also add little bits of burlap sheets in different colors to help frame your photo.

023

Mist some Barn Red Glimmer mist on a Red & Green Diamond paper layer, achieving a monochrome effect. You can cut this fun print of paper in different shapes to add interest & direct the attention to your photo. Don’t forget to add some splatters of Graphite Glimmer Mist to finish it all off.

031

Canvas Corp materials:
Jolly Christmas papers: Jolly Christmas Countdown; Jolly Christmas on White; Jolly Christmas Sayings; Red & Green Stitched Diamonds
Other Canvas Corp papers: Lime Green Chevron on White; Solid Red on White
Other Canvas Corp materials: Burlap Sheets (Red & Green); Red Waxed Cotton Cord

Tattered Angels materials:
Glimmer Mists: Barn Red; Graphite
Chalkboard: Inchworm
Glimmer Glam: Ladybug

7 Gypsies Chipboard Alphas

Other materials: rhinestones, glitter & paper flower

After the holidays begin to wind down, its always important to reflect on the special memories that were made.  Creating holiday mementos in the form of ornaments, cards and picture layouts help us to remember that year.  Don’t forget to check out the range of Canvas Corp collections here.  Thanks again for dropping by & enjoy your Christmas week.  🙂
