My Lovely Story

Happy St. Patrick’s day everyone! I’d like to share my March layout class with you which I’ve had a pleasure teaching to the lovely ladies that attended and purchased the kits.   Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You inspire me to brew up more ideas and classes, and you keep me coming back to teach more.  Here’s my layout:

“My Lovely Story”

This layout features Blue Fern Studios’ super gorgeous Memoires collection, which was a big hit in the class.  So what’s the story behind the photos? My daughter is flaunting here rosy teething cheeks, she’s such a trooper the annoying pain littlies usually get doesn’t seem to faze her.

For more updates on my classes and kits, you can subscribe to the Scrapaholics newsletter here.

That’s it for today’s post.  Thanks for stopping by and may the luck of the Irish be with you.  Have a great weekend!

It’s time to start thinking about creating your homemade gifts for Christmas.  How about showing off what you’ve created for this week’s challenge?

Everyone loves receiving a homemade gift! So why not show us what you’ve planned for your loved ones.

There will be 2 winners for this challenge:

Overall Winner & a Draw Winner will each win an Origami Flower Ball Kit:

We look forward to you joining in the fun!

Today I’m sharing with you my homemade Christmas gift:

My friend loved one of the Multi Purpose Box that I’ve made (check out the full post on that here), so I thought what a great idea to make one for her as well.

Edges & parts of the box have been given a coat of Slate paint.  It’s a great neutral gray shade that goes with anything.

The rest of the parts have been adhered with papers from the Home For Christmas collection.  Yep, you can easily create any type of project with this collection.

A few touches of pink has been added to liven up the neutral colors of the box.  In here I’ve added a doily, I Am Roses flower, wooden icon & bronze charm which can all be purchased at the Artfull Crafts shop.

I’ve die cut some doilies from the papers & topped it with a pearl brad, keeping the layers simple.

The dividers also have the same color paint & papers to go with the box.  Now all my friend has to do is add labels to them & start organizing some of her crafty stuff….think embossing folders, dies, plain cards, etc.

As always, thanks for dropping by.  I hope you’re having a great start to your December.  Hopefully we get to pick a Christmas tree with the girls some time late this week.  I just love the smell & look of fresh tree, can’t beat it.

Do check out the Home For Christmas collection here.  Also, don’t forget that all Kaisercraft projects are 30% off this week, among other bargains at the shop.  Have a great week everyone!

Fairyland Frame – & Some Winners!!!

Good day.  Christine here posting a Fairyland frame for Artfull Crafts with the new Fairy Dust collection.  You can’t get any girlier than this pretty fairy collection.  If you love magical fairies, tiaras, butterflies, fleur de lis, purples & greens with lashings of silver foil, then this collection is for you.

Believe it or not this is the first fairy project I’ve ever done, & I went fairy all the way with this frame.

“Fairyland Frame”

Fairyland Frame

I’ve used the Geo Hex Wall Art beyond the page project by Kaisercraft & adhered different Fairy Dust papers on the top & under the little hexagons.  This is available to purchase in the shop upon request.  I had this vision of a fairyland with a long leafy vine so I added some Green Tara Satin Leaf Garland.

Of course there has to be flowers around the fairies, & on this frame I’ve added: I Am Roses Large White Paper Rose, Sage Paper Blooms & Amethyst Mini Paper Blooms both by Kaisercraft.

Some of the Fairy Dust papers have some lovely bokeh texture to them.  I added some more texture with a few stamping, stenciling, adding beads & a variety of glimmer mists.  The edges of the frames have been painted with Kaisercraft Metallic Silver Paint, & then inked with Distress Ink.

Some silver foiled butterflies from the specialty paper have been cut, layered & added to the frame for fluttering butterflies around the fairies.  A sticker from the sticker sheet has been inserted inside the Kaiser Treasure Corked Bottle.  Gotta add a bottle that spreads fairy dust on this frame!

The smallest fairy in this frame is from the Collectables & there’s heaps of fairy sayings & inspiration from the Sticker Sheet & papers as well.  I’ve added a Lilac Glitter Butterfly behind this tiny fairy to complete her look.

So what do you reckon? Let me know what you think or leave a comment if you’ve got any question.

I’d also like to announce the winners of the Christmas cards from last month.  Thank you for your lovely comments, & the drawn names are: JUDY; JULENE MATTHEWS; YVONNE SAVAGE; APNZ55; & PINK LADY NZ.  I might have added a few fun embellies in your envelopes as well ;-).  Ladies, please email me your postal address at  I’ll send them all to you just before the middle of the month (As you’re reading this post, I’m currently 12.5 hours away from NZ).

Do check out the Fairy Dust collection here.  Thanks for dropping in & congrats again to the winners!

A Garden of Smiles

Hi there, how’s it going? As promised from last week, I’ve got another Kaisercraft layout to share with you today for Artfull Crafts.  This time, it features the new & oh so pretty Secret Garden collection.  By the name itself, you know what to expect.

“A Garden of Smiles”

Love These Smiles

I just love the beautiful smiles of the little girls of the family, & their photos really make the page so special.  The background is the Posy paper, & I’ve cut a thin layer of circle at the edge of the Blossom specialty die cut paper (so gorgeous) to get 2 pieces out of it.

The other paper layers from the collection used here are Gate, Prairie, & Overgrown.

Pearl strips are added to some sides of each framed 4×6 photos.

There’s lots of pretty & versatile pieces from the Sticker Sheet & Collectables which you can see here.

The bouquet of flowers for the cluster are the Blue Calla Lily Flowers,  Peach & White Tulip Paper Flowers, & a small pink paper bloom.  A layout with a garden full of smiles must have a pretty flower cluster. 🙂

Do check out the Secret Garden collection here.  If you love florals & soft pretty colors, then this is definitely for you.  Thanks so much for dropping by & enjoy your week.

Curly & Cute

Hi there, how’s it going? Only a few more sleeps to go & we’re onto a new month! Oh how time flies.  Last night I got inspired & made some time to scrap.  I created a layout featuring the gorgeous curly locks of my daughter.  I’m entering it for Sketchabilities Sketch #133:

And the gorgeous February Scrap Around the World mood board by Tatiana Sidorenko :

The main inspiration I took from the board is the beautiful hair.  I was also inspired by the lovely green colors, curls/swirls & the lush fauna.  Here’s my layout:

“Curly & Cute”

Curly & Cute

I’ve die cut a few swirly leaves in green & stone color/print paper for the cluster.  I also stamped some leaves on a couple of corners.

I added some strips of light lime green bling at different angles.

I painted the letter chipboards black, then embossed them gold with a woodgrain stamp (except for the letter “y” which is the left over from the chipboard piece).

I shaped a heart from one of the mini paper bloom’s stem.  Isn’t it so cute? 🙂

I added some seafoam green color to the heart veneers, inked the edges & added some alpha stickers on top.  I’ve die cut some doilies from some light yellow green vellum, then folded them in half.

So there’s my layout.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  I got so inspired by the gorgeous photos, I couldn’t stop creating this page last night (I had to restrain myself at some point, so as not to overdo the layout…lol!).  Again, thanks so much for all the inspirations & I look forward to next month.  Thanks for popping in & have a great day! 🙂

A Little Girl’s Kiss

Wow, can you believe we’re more than halfway through January already? How’s the start of your year going so far? I’m posting today for some “XO” inspiration for Artfull Crafts.  Let’s start off with a layout I’ve created called “A Little Girl’s Kiss”.  This is the sweetest moment captured ever, so I really wanted to document it.  The XO collection is perfect for this…a mix of sweet & pretty colors, prints & patterns.  Here’s my layout:

“A Little Girl’s Kiss”

A Little Girl's Kiss

Isn’t the My Heart glossy specialty paper just gorgeous? When I got my hands on this paper, it got my brain flowing with ideas straight away.  Lots of subtle layering here, as I wanted the photo to stand out from the gorgeous papers.

Onto the second XO creation…a Valentine’s card of course! The collection name speaks for itself, so it’s a no brainer for me to make one.  Here’s my card:

“P.S. I Love You”

P.S. I Love You

002 (2)     002(3)

The message in a clear bottle really added a gorgeous touch to this card.  I’ve simply trimmed the P.S. I love you from the XO sticker sheet, placed it inside the corked bottle, then twisted some mini rosebuds on the top.  The black heart at the bottom left of the card is simply the left over from the sticker sheet.  You know, the ones most of us don’t use & throw away.  Simply cut it out, & voila! I’ve said this a couple of times before but I’ll say it again…nothing must go to waste!

The third (& last) XO creation is a tag I’ve made for my daughter.  She loves all things girly & pretty & reading stories, so that is enough inspiration for me to create this tag:

“Sweet Tag”

"Sweet" Tag

007     010

If this isn’t sweet & girly enough, then I don’t know what is! I hope you enjoyed the variety of creations that I made from the beautiful XO collection.  They all have lots of stamping, mini paper blooms & are based from this delicious color palette:

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Have a super week!
