A Farewell Post for Artfull Crafts

A new year means a call for a new Design Team, so today I’m saying goodbye to the wonderful team of Artfull Crafts. I had a blast creating with Liz’s generous DT packs & I’m sure the 2016 team will enjoy it as much as I did. The rest of the DT has been amazing & inspiring. I’m so lucky to have worked with a diverse group of lovely talented ladies.  You can also check out the full blog post here.

Here’s a recap of my favourite projects from last year:

I’d especially like to thank Liz & Graham for having me on the team. Thank you to everyone that left lovely comments on the blog, I appreciate all of them. I wish the new DT the best, & I look forward to your inspirations.

We look forward to you joining in the fun!

Today I’m sharing with you my homemade Christmas gift:

My friend loved one of the Multi Purpose Box that I’ve made (check out the full post on that here), so I thought what a great idea to make one for her as well.

Edges & parts of the box have been given a coat of Slate paint.  It’s a great neutral gray shade that goes with anything.

The rest of the parts have been adhered with papers from the Home For Christmas collection.  Yep, you can easily create any type of project with this collection.

A few touches of pink has been added to liven up the neutral colors of the box.  In here I’ve added a doily, I Am Roses flower, wooden icon & bronze charm which can all be purchased at the Artfull Crafts shop.

I’ve die cut some doilies from the papers & topped it with a pearl brad, keeping the layers simple.

The dividers also have the same color paint & papers to go with the box.  Now all my friend has to do is add labels to them & start organizing some of her crafty stuff….think embossing folders, dies, plain cards, etc.

As always, thanks for dropping by.  I hope you’re having a great start to your December.  Hopefully we get to pick a Christmas tree with the girls some time late this week.  I just love the smell & look of fresh tree, can’t beat it.

Do check out the Home For Christmas collection here.  Also, don’t forget that all Kaisercraft projects are 30% off this week, among other bargains at the shop.  Have a great week everyone!

This year I made a home decoration/display with one of my favourite shape…stars! One can never have too many stars :).  Let me show you what I created, I hope you’ll like it as much as I do.  Here’s my Christmas home decoration:

“Star Tree Décor”

Star Tree

I’ve used the Wooden Star Tree for this project & is currently 30% off at the shop, with all papers from the Home For Christmas collection.

I went for a clean & natural look, inspired by the texture of the Laurel paper.  I wanted this piece to have a marriage of festive & Scandinavian feel.

The first smallest top star has the Mistletoe paper & cut out pieces from the Laurel & Sugar Plum papers.

The second star has the Sugar Plum paper as well.  This is one of my favourite paper from this collection, it has a lovely & versatile print.

The third star has the Pinecones paper with pieces from the Poinsettia & Season papers.

The fourth biggest star has the Sugar Plum paper too.  Both sides of the paper you can pretty much use for anything & everything for your projects.  That delicious vine is from Prima’s Midnight Kiss Victorian Christmas Flower pack.

Don’t forget, there’s also 30% off all Christmas Wooden Projects & Home Décor Items in the shop, including this Star Tree Décor! It’s a great deal, so why not pick up some projects & get into the festive spirit.  Click here to see the range.

As always, thanks for dropping by & we can’t wait to see all your beautiful creations :).

Most Wonderful Time

Good day.  We’re almost onto December & this has got me inspired to create festive projects lately.  I love Scrap Around the World’s festive November mood board:

My main inspiration is the wooden star on top of the lit tree, & also the top left image’s white wood & “Most Wonderful Time” sentiment.

“Most Wonderful Time”

Most Wonderful Time

This is my first mixed media Christmas layout, & I had fun creating it :).  We don’t get snow in our side of the world but I really wanted to add some “white” touches to the page, hence the splatters of white paint.

I’ve added some media on the hessian paper & layered a star silhouette cut out from a white wood paper.  This is then layered under the sepia photo, giving it a nice frame &  just the right amount of texture & shimmery color.  Various alpha stickers are added at the right side as inspired by the board.  I’ve added a little touch of heart on the photo as well.

She’s very happy & delighted to have Santa visit & give her a present from her preschool.  She couldn’t stop talking about it to everyone for weeks! 🙂

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you enjoyed my post today.  A big thanks also for the fab inspirations of the SATW team.  Enjoy the rest of your month!

I created a Christmas card with the awesome A Touch of Gold collection.

Merry Christmas

I love the non-traditional colors of this versatile collection.  The base for this card is the Deluxe paper, & on top is the negative of the Sticker Sheet.  The black stripes of this sheet is lovely & it’s a shame to just throw it out.  Of course I also added the circle sentiments from it.

The Merry Christmas word was cut out from the Christmas Words specialty paper.  I then had fun adding some inky touches to the background, keeping to the black & bright color of the collection.  It’s all finished off with a Mini Doily, twine & star on the letter I.

I’m really enjoying making Christmas cards this year, & I hope you do too.  Do check out the Artfull Crafts Christmas Store here for a great selection of crafty holiday goodies, & there’s a special this week too:

Fairyland Frame – & Some Winners!!!

Good day.  Christine here posting a Fairyland frame for Artfull Crafts with the new Fairy Dust collection.  You can’t get any girlier than this pretty fairy collection.  If you love magical fairies, tiaras, butterflies, fleur de lis, purples & greens with lashings of silver foil, then this collection is for you.

Believe it or not this is the first fairy project I’ve ever done, & I went fairy all the way with this frame.

“Fairyland Frame”

Fairyland Frame

I’ve used the Geo Hex Wall Art beyond the page project by Kaisercraft & adhered different Fairy Dust papers on the top & under the little hexagons.  This is available to purchase in the shop upon request.  I had this vision of a fairyland with a long leafy vine so I added some Green Tara Satin Leaf Garland.

Of course there has to be flowers around the fairies, & on this frame I’ve added: I Am Roses Large White Paper Rose, Sage Paper Blooms & Amethyst Mini Paper Blooms both by Kaisercraft.

Some of the Fairy Dust papers have some lovely bokeh texture to them.  I added some more texture with a few stamping, stenciling, adding beads & a variety of glimmer mists.  The edges of the frames have been painted with Kaisercraft Metallic Silver Paint, & then inked with Distress Ink.

Some silver foiled butterflies from the specialty paper have been cut, layered & added to the frame for fluttering butterflies around the fairies.  A sticker from the sticker sheet has been inserted inside the Kaiser Treasure Corked Bottle.  Gotta add a bottle that spreads fairy dust on this frame!

The smallest fairy in this frame is from the Collectables & there’s heaps of fairy sayings & inspiration from the Sticker Sheet & papers as well.  I’ve added a Lilac Glitter Butterfly behind this tiny fairy to complete her look.

So what do you reckon? Let me know what you think or leave a comment if you’ve got any question.

I’d also like to announce the winners of the Christmas cards from last month.  Thank you for your lovely comments, & the drawn names are: JUDY; JULENE MATTHEWS; YVONNE SAVAGE; APNZ55; & PINK LADY NZ.  I might have added a few fun embellies in your envelopes as well ;-).  Ladies, please email me your postal address at myscrapshack@outlook.co.nz.  I’ll send them all to you just before the middle of the month (As you’re reading this post, I’m currently 12.5 hours away from NZ).

Do check out the Fairy Dust collection here.  Thanks for dropping in & congrats again to the winners!

Sister, My Greatest Joy

Hi there, how’s it going? I hope you’ve had a great weekend celebrating dads’ special day.  Today I’m  posting an album with the lovely Generations collection for Artfull Crafts.  It’s got a heritage & vintage feel to it, which I enjoyed creating with it.  I like that it has some soft pretty colors mixed in it, rather than having too much brown which some heritage papers may have.  Here’s the front cover:

“Sister, My Greatest Joy”

Sister, My Greatest Joy

The Generations collection comes with a 12×12 Paper Pad (48 sheets) which I’ve used in each page of this album.  Aren’t the Wooden Babushka Dolls adorable?

The pretty corals, blues & greens are what attracted me to create with this collection, & the inspiring words & quotes that come with it as well.  Perfect for all family & geneaology projects.

A few bits of ribbons & lace have been snuck in the pages & tied to the album ring.

Having the photos printed sepia works well with this collection & gave a lovely nostalgic feel to the whole album.  I’ll surely reminisce when looking at this album every time the girls grow up.

There’s a variety of Artfull Embellies throughout: Pastel Polka Dots Wooden Button; Antique Bronze Small Key; Pocket Watch Charm; Antique Bronze Clock Face Charm; Antique Bronze Small Flower Charm; Wooden Colored Peg; Silver Heart Charm; & White Waxed Cord.

There’s also some old school Kaisercraft rub ons & wooden flourishes on some of the pages.

Of course there are some lovely die cut pieces from the Collectables & phrases from the Sticker Sheet as well.

Last is the back of the album:

So take a step back in time to remember generations, past and present with the beautiful Generations collection.  If you love vintage timepieces, keys and floral patterns, you have to take a good look at this collection here.

Thanks so much for dropping by & having a look at the album with me.  Have a great day!
