Purple, Pink & Plaid

Hello everyone.  I’m excited to share with you a fun layout that has my favourite Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, & Scrapmatts goodies.  This layout is part of Canvas Corp Brand’s “Family” Challenge:

Our second CCB Challenge this year is all about Family! The word family summons so many things – heritage, weddings, children, birthdays, new family members, travels – well if you think about it – most things in your life has some connection to family. The CCB Crew have been happily creating with the gorgeous Heirloom Collection by Canvas Corp for this Family Challenge.  Here’s my take:

“You & Me”

You & Me

Canvas Corp/Tattered Angels materials: Black & Ivory Plaid Paper (Heirloom Collection); Glimmer Mists (Periwinkle Bouquet, Cadillac Pink, Wedding Pink, Graphite, Gold, Marigold); Chalkboard Mists (Black Orchid, Chalk); Black High Impact Paint; White Brushed Cotton Pure Mistable Paper

Purple & pink is a winning color combination, & I added slight hints of yellow & touches of gold.  The Brushed Cotton Paper is an absolute delight to work with all Tattered Angels Paints, & any mediums you can think of.  Sooooo divine! I’ve watered down the Black High Impact Paint for my splatters, which is very effective & economical.  You only need to use very little at a time & think of how long a jar will last.  I’m also loving the Black & Ivory Plaid Paper from the Heirloom Collection, which is my new favourite print.

Scrapmatts Materials: Stars String Circles; Film Strips; Black Scrap Words; Assorted Words; Stencils (Leaf Sprays, Circles, Cobblestones)

A mixed media layout ain’t complete without some yummy Scrapmatts chipboards & stencils.  I’ve coated the Stars Circle String (always works a treat in framing photos) with Gesso & every so lightly added some fine pink glitter on some parts.  The Film Strip is inked gold & the Scrap Word is inked pink.  The stencils are used different ways to further enhance the photo.

I had a blast creating this layout & I hope you enjoyed looking through it.  Here is the super awesome CCB prize pack that the winner will take home.  Winner is chosen through random.org:

So what are you waiting for? Get those family projects cracking & enter them here.  There’ beautiful inspiration from my fellow crew members on this link as well, so do check them out.  I sure would love to get my hands on this amazing prize!
